  • Would dynamically created JavaScript files be cached?

    - by venksster
    So my application uses a LOT of js files. thats a lot of http requests. I decided to combine them dynamically at the server in packs of 3-4 files clubbed by functionality. My client side request is: ...script type="text/javascript" src="http://mydomain.com/core-js.php" ... My server side does: --core-js.php-- header("Content-type: application/x-javascript"); include_once('file1.js'); include_once('file2.js'); include_once('file3.js'); include_once('file4.js'); I am setting a far future expire header on core-js.php. My question is, would core-js.php be cached at the client side? If it would be, could someone please explain how? Thanks!

  • How to Cache image when src is some action which returns image?

    - by Bipul
    There are lots of questions about how to force the browser to cache or not to cache any image. But, I am facing slightly different situation. In several places of my web page, I am using following code for the images. <img title="<%= Html.Encode(Model.title)%>" src="<%= Url.Action(MVC.FrontEnd.Actions.RetrieveImage(Model.SystemId))%>"/> So, in the generated HTML it is like <img title="blahblah" src="http://xyz.com/FrontEnd/Actions/RetrieveImage?imageId=X"> Where X is some integer. I have seen that though the browser (IE or Mozilla) caches images by default, it is not caching images generated by above method. Is there any way I can tell browser to cache images of above type? Thanks in advance.

  • Application Composer Series: Where and When to use Groovy

    - by Richard Bingham
    This brief post is really intended as more of a reference than an article. The table below highlights two things, firstly where you can add you own custom logic via groovy code (end column), and secondly (middle column) when you might use each particular feature. Obviously this applies only where Application Composer exists, namely Fusion CRM and Oracle Sales Cloud, and is based on current (release 8) functionality. Feature Most Common Use Case Groovy Field Triggers React to run-time data changes. Only fired when the field is changed and upon submit. Y Object Triggers To extend the standard processing logic for an object, based on record creation, updates and deletes. There is a split between these firing events, with some related to UI/ADF actions and others originating in the database. UI Trigger Points: After Create - fires when a new object record is created. Commonly used to set default values for fields. Before Modify - Fires when the end-user tries to modify a field value. Could be used for generic warnings or extra security logic. Before Invalidate - Fires on the parent object when one of its child object records is created, updated, or deleted. For building in relationship logic. Before Remove - Fires when an attempt is made to delete an object record. Can be used to create conditions that prevent deletes. Database Trigger Points: Before Insert in Database - Fires before a new object is inserted into the database. Can be used to ensure a dependent record exists or check for duplicates. After Insert in Database - Fires after a new object is inserted into the database. Could be used to create a complementary record. Before Update in Database -Fires before an existing object is modified in the database. Could be used to check dependent record values. After Update in Database - Fires after an existing object is modified in the database. Could be used to update a complementary record. Before Delete in Database - Fires before an existing object is deleted from the database. Could be used to check dependent record values. After Delete in Database - Fires after an existing object is deleted from the database. Could be used to remove dependent records. After Commit in Database - Fires after the change pending for the current object (insert, update, delete) is made permanent in the current transaction. Could be used when committed data that has passed all validation is required. After Changes Posted to Database - Fires after all changes have been posted to the database, but before they are permanently committed. Could be used to make additional changes that will be saved as part of the current transaction. Y Field Validation Displays a user entered error message based groovy logic validating the field value. The message is shown only when the validation logic returns false, and the logic is triggered only when tabbing out of the field on the user interface. Y Object Validation Commonly used where validation is needed across multiple related fields on the object. Triggered on the submit UI action. Y Object Workflows All Object Workflows are fired upon either record creation or update, along with the option of adding a custom groovy firing condition. Y Field Updates - change another field when a specified one changes. Intended as an easy way to set different run-time values (e.g. pick values for LOV's) plus the value field permits groovy logic entry. Y E-Mail Notification - sends an email notification to specified users/roles. Templates support using run-time value tokens and rich text. N Task Creation - for adding standard tasks for use in the worklist functionality. N Outbound Message - will create and send an XML payload of the related object SDO to a specified endpoint. N Business Process Flow - intended for approval using the seeded process, however can also trigger custom BPMN flows. N Global Functions Utility functions that can be called from any groovy code in Application Composer (across applications). Y Object Functions Utility functions that are local to the parent object. Usually triggered from within 'Buttons and Actions' definitions in Application Composer, although can be called from other code for that object (e.g. from a trigger). Y Add Custom Fields When adding custom fields there are a few places you can include groovy logic. Y Default Value - to add logic within setting the default value when new records are entered. Y Conditionally Updateable - to add logic to set the field to read-only or not. Y Conditionally Required - to add logic to set the field to required or not. Y Formula Field - Used to provide a new aggregate field that is entirely based on groovy logic and other field values. Y Simplified UI Layouts - Advanced Expressions Used for creating dynamic layouts for simplified UI pages where fields and regions show/hide based on run-time context values and logic. Also includes support for the depends-on feature as a trigger. • Changing the default program for an application

    - by mohamad
    I have installed MonoDevelop and after that Wine, but when I want to open an EXE file and then double click on it, it always runs with the Mono runtime, and if I want to run it with Wine, I should right click on it and choose Wine. Well, in properties and in Open With there isn't Wine that choose it for the default application... I have this problem for all types of applications and files. When the software you want to run is in the right click application (Open With), I can't choose it in properties for the default. In fact, I can't find it in properties, because it is in open with option in right click... What should I do to fix this problem? I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal), 32 bit.

  • Drupal - assign menu to block based on node type

    - by ernie
    I want to assign a specific menu in left sidebar block, based on the node type of the page currently being displayed. I think it should look something like this, but I am stuck. function my_module_nodeapi(&$node, $op) { switch ($op) { case 'view': if ($node->type == "large_reptiles") { //menu_set_active_menu_name('menu_reptile_menu'); //menu_set_active_item('menu_reptile_menu'); } break; } }

  • Rails render partial with block

    - by brad
    I'm trying to re-use an html component that i've written that provides panel styling. Something like: <div class="v-panel"> <div class="v-panel-tr"></div> <h3>Some Title</h3> <div class="v-panel-c"> .. content goes here </div> <div class="v-panel-b"><div class="v-panel-br"></div><div class="v-panel-bl"></div></div> </div> So I see that render takes a block. I figured then I could do something like this: # /shared/_panel.html.erb <div class="v-panel"> <div class="v-panel-tr"></div> <h3><%= title %></h3> <div class="v-panel-c"> <%= yield %> </div> <div class="v-panel-b"><div class="v-panel-br"></div><div class="v-panel-bl"></div></div> </div> And I want to do something like: #some html view <%= render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals =>{:title => "Some Title"} do %> <p>Here is some content to be rendered inside the panel</p> <% end %> Unfortunately this doesn't work with this error: ActionView::TemplateError (/Users/bradrobertson/Repos/VeloUltralite/source/trunk/app/views/sessions/new.html.erb:1: , unexpected tRPAREN old_output_buffer = output_buffer;;@output_buffer = ''; __in_erb_template=true ; @output_buffer.concat(( render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals => {:title => "Welcome"} do ).to_s) on line #1 of app/views/sessions/new.html.erb: 1: <%= render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals => {:title => "Welcome"} do -%> ... So it doesn't like the = obviously with a block, but if I remove it, then it just doesn't output anything. Does anyone know how to do what I'm trying to achieve here? I'd like to re-use this panel html in many places on my site.

  • Develop an android and iPhone application with shared database

    - by Bongo
    I have a great idea for smartphone application, And I want to develop an application suited for both android and iPhone. In addition I need to use spatial database for geo indexing that will be shared for both applications. I am new to this app world and I have some questions. Is there away to develop for both machines? I know java but not objective c. My guess is that I need to separate the database from the computing to support both applications. What are the best cloud computing providers with spatial database support that can host the server? Do I need 2 hosting servers or there is one server the can support the both of them? which database provider can support geo indexing and support this intergraion, I prefer providers with reasonable free quotas. Thanks.

  • Database caching on a shared host

    - by tau
    Anyone have any ideas how to increase MySQL performance on a shared host? My question has less to do with overall database performance and more to do with simply retrieving user-submitted data. Currently my database will create caches at timed intervals, and then the PHP will selectively access the static files it needs. This has given me a noticeable performance boost, but I am worried about a time in which I have so much data that having to read in big files in PHP will actually be slower. I am just looking for ideas for shared hosting solutions; I am not going to get my own server anytime soon. Thanks!

  • Can't get InputStream read to block...

    - by mark dufresne
    I would like the input stream read to block instead of reading end of stream (-1). Is there a way to configure the stream to do this? Here's my Servlet code: PrintWriter out = response.getWriter(); BufferedReader in = request.getReader(); try { String line; int loop = 0; while (loop < 20) { line = in.readLine(); lgr.log(Level.INFO, line); out.println("<" + loop + "html>"); Thread.sleep(1000); loop++; // } } catch (InterruptedException ex) { lgr.log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } finally { out.close(); } Here's my Midlet code: private HttpConnection conn; InputStream is; OutputStream os; private boolean exit = false; public void run() { String url = "http://localhost:8080/WebApplication2/NewServlet"; try { conn = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(url); is = conn.openInputStream(); os = conn.openOutputStream(); StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(); int c; while (!exit) { os.write("<html>\n".getBytes()); while ((c = is.read()) != -1) { sb.append((char) c); } System.out.println(sb.toString()); sb.delete(0, sb.length() - 1); try { Thread.sleep(1000); } catch (InterruptedException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } os.close(); is.close(); conn.close(); } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } I've tried InputStream.read, but it doesn't block either, it returns -1 as well. I'm trying to keep the I/O streams on either side alive. I want the servlet to wait for input, process the input, then send back a response. In the code above it should do this 20 times. thanks for any help

  • Is asp.net caching my sql results?

    - by Christian W
    I have the following method in an App_Code/Globals.cs file: public static XmlDataSource getXmlSourceFromOrgid(int orgid) { XmlDataSource xds = new XmlDataSource(); var ctx = new SensusDataContext(); SqlConnection c = new SqlConnection(ctx.Connection.ConnectionString); c.Open(); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(String.Format("select orgid, tekst, dbo.GetOrgTreeXML({0}) as Subtree from tblOrg where OrgID = {0}", orgid), c); var rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); rdr.Read(); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); sb.AppendFormat("&lt;node orgid=\"{0}\" tekst=\"{1}\"&gt;",rdr.GetInt32(0),rdr.GetString(1)); sb.Append(rdr.GetString(2)); sb.Append("&lt;/node&gt;"); xds.Data = sb.ToString(); xds.ID = "treedata"; rdr.Close(); c.Close(); return xds; } This gives me an XML-structure to use with the asp.net treeview control (I also use the CssFriendly extender to get nicer code) My problem is that if I logon on my pc with a code that gives me access on a lower level in the tree hierarchy (it's an orgianization hierarchy), it somehow "remembers" what level i logon at. So when my coworker tests from her computer with another code, giving access to another place in the tree, she get's the same tree as me. (The tree is supposed to show your own level and down.) I have added a html-comment to show what orgid it passes to the function, and the orgid passed is correct. So either the treeview caches something serverside, or the sqlquery caches it's result somehow... Any ideas? Sql function: ALTER function [dbo].[GetOrgTreeXML](@orgid int) returns XML begin RETURN (select org.orgid as '@orgid', org.tekst as '@tekst', [dbo].GetOrgTreeXML(org.orgid) from tblOrg org where (@orgid is null and Eier is null) or Eier=@orgid for XML PATH('NODE'), TYPE) end Extra code as requested: int orgid = int.Parse(Session["org"].ToString()); string orgname = context.Orgs.Where(q => q.OrgID == orgid).First().Tekst; debuglit.Text = String.Format("<!-- Id: {0} \n name: {1} -->", orgid, orgname); var orgxml = Globals.getXmlSourceFromOrgid(orgid); tvNavtree.DataSource = orgxml; tvNavtree.DataBind(); Where "debuglit" is a asp:Literal in the aspx file. EDIT: I have narrowed it down. All functions returns correct values. It just doesn't bind to it. I suspect the CssFriendly adapter to have something to do with it. I disabled the CssFriendly adapter and the problem persists... Stepping through it in debug it's correct all the way, with the stepper standing on "tvNavtree.DataBind();" I can hover the pointer over the tvNavtree.Datasource and see that it actually has the correct data. So something must be faulting in the binding process...

  • Site images don't refresh after setting expired headers on .htaccess

    - by Miguel Hernandez
    I have a site that uses a CSS sprite for all the images. I set the .htaccess file to set the expired headers to a future time as they recommend to improve site performance. However, when I updated the sprite image none of my browsers on two different computers seem to fetch the new image. I deleted the .htaccess serveral times but no luck. I am sure this must be easy as pie to fix but right now I am out of options. Here is the code inside my .htaccess file: # CONFIGURE media caching # Header unset ETag FileETag None <FilesMatch "(?i)^.*\.(ico|flv|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|js|css)$"> Header unset Last-Modified Header set Expires "Fri, 21 Dec 2012 00:00:00 GMT" Header set Cache-Control "public, no-transform" </FilesMatch> <IfModule mod_deflate.c> <FilesMatch "\.(js|css)$"> SetOutputFilter DEFLATE </FilesMatch> </IfModule> Thanks!

  • jQuery toggle caching / cookies

    - by user1706680
    I’m using the jQuery toggle function for my navigation. By default the Authors toggle is visible, the Archives toggle is closed. http://jsfiddle.net/TeDFs/4/ My problem is that when the users switches to another page the toggles reset themselves. For example, when the user closes the Authors toggle and opens the Archive toggle and then navigates to another page the default settings are loaded. I read that it’s possible to store the settings via cookies but I’m absolutely new to jQuery and it would be great if somebody could help me out! HTML <div id="authors" class="widget"> <h2 class="widget-title-visible">Authors</h2> <div class="toggle"> <div class="submenu"> <ul> <li>Name 1</li> <li>Name 2</li> <li>Name 3</li> <li>Name 3</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div id="archives" class="widget"> <h2 class="widget-title">Archiv</h2> <div class="toggle hidden"> <div class="submenu"> <ul> <li>November 2012</li> <li>Oktober 2012</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div>? jQuery function toggleWidgets() { jQuery('.widget-title').addClass('plus'); jQuery('.widget-title-visible').addClass('minus'); jQuery('.widget-title').click(function() { $(this).toggleClass('plus').toggleClass('minus').next().toggle(180); }); jQuery('.widget-title-visible').click(function() { $(this).toggleClass('minus').toggleClass('plus').next().toggle(180); }); } jQuery(document).ready(function() { toggleWidgets(); } )? CSS .hidden{ display:none; } .plus { background: url(http://moargh.de/daten/sidebar_arrows.png) 0 5px no-repeat; padding: 0 0 0 12px; } .minus { background: url(http://moargh.de/daten/sidebar_arrows.png) 0 -10px no-repeat; padding: 0 0 0 12px; }

  • Repeatedly querying xml using python

    - by Jack
    I have some xml documents I need to run queries on. I've created some python scripts (using ElementTree) to do this, since I'm vaguely familiar with using it. The way it works is I run the scripts several times with different arguments, depending on what I want to find out. These files can be relatively large (10MB+) and so it takes rather a long time to parse them. On my system, just running: tree = ElementTree.parse(document) takes around 30 seconds, with a subsequent findall query only adding around a second to that. Seeing as the way I'm doing this requires me to repeatedly parse the file, I was wondering if there was some sort of caching mechanism I can use so that the ElementTree.parse computation can be reduced on subsequent queries. I realise the smart thing to do here may be to try and batch as many queries as possible together in the python script, but I was hoping there might be another way. Thanks.

  • Building my first ASP.NET WebForms application problem

    - by user1525474
    Hi I have recently started to learn C#/ASP.NET WebForms and after reading two books I thought I was ready to create my first web application. Problem is I could not have been more wrong. Although I am not quite a beginner as a programmer and have done some programming in Java (a Monopoly game), JavaScript (using jQuery), and PHP (create templates for WordPress), I never really created something that is database driven, and I can't seem to figure where to start. I am very confident in my HTML/CSS/jQuery skills, so that is not the problem. My end goal after becoming comfortable in ASP.NET WebForms is to learn MVC, ADO.NET, and the Entity Framework, and start a career as a .NET developer. I would like if someone could tell me some tutorials that build ASP.NET WebForms applications, such as a blog, so I can see what are the steps in creating an ASP.NET WebForms database driven application. I already have to projects in mind for ASP.NET. One is building a blog and the other building a job board.

  • Non-Full-Screen Application Launcher in Gnome 3?

    - by Jeff
    I'm trying out Gnome Shell in 11.04. You can push the "activities" key to get into the overview where you can launch applications. I like the idea of the overview as an aid in switching focus, but it's too slow for just launching an application. Is Gnome Shell going to implement, or does it have, a way to launch applications (besides the alt-f2 command launcher) that is as quick as Gnome-do? edit: To be clear, I'm aware of several Gnome application launchers. I'm curious about the Gnome Shell and any packages it includes (not add-ons like Gnome-do or Synapse).
