  • Simplifying a four-dimensional rule table in Matlab: addressing rows and columns of each dimension

    Hi all. I'm currently trying to automatically generate a set of fuzzy rules for a set of observations which contain four values for each observation, where each observation will correspond to a state (a good example is with Fisher's Iris Data). In Matlab I am creating a four dimensional rule table where a single cell (a,b,c,d) will contain the corresponding state. To reduce the table I am following the Hong and Lee method of row and column similarity checking but I am having difficulty understanding how to address the third and fourth dimensions' rows and columns. From the method it is my understanding that each dimension is addressed individually and if the rule is true, the table is simplified. The rules for merging are as follows: If all cells in adjacent columns or rows are the same. If two cells are the same or if either of them is empty in adjacent columns or rows and at least one cell in both is not empty. If all cells in a column or row are empty and if cells in its two adjacent columns or rows are the same, merge the three. If all cells in a column or row are empty and if cells in its two adjacent columns or rows are the same or either of them is empty, merge the three. If all cells in a column or row are empty and if all the non-empty cells in the column or row to its left have the same region, and all the non-empty cells in the column or row to its right have the same region, but one different from the previously mentioned region, merge these three columns into two parts. Now for the confusing bit. Simply checking if the entire row/column is the same as the adjacent (rule 1) seems simple enough: if (a,:,:,:) == (a+1,:,:,:) (:,b,:,:) == (:,b+1,:,:) (:,:,c,:) == (:,:,c+1,:) (:,:,:,d) == (:,:,:,d+1) is this correct? but to check if the elements in the row/column match, or either is zero (rules 2 and 4), I am a bit lost. Would it be something along these lines: for a = 1:20 for i = 1:length(b) if (a+1,i,:,:) == (a,i,:,:) ... else if (a+1,i,:,:) == 0 ... else if (a,i,:,:) == 0 etc. and for the third and fourth dimensions: for c = 1:20 for i = 1:length(a) if (i,:,c,:) == (i,:,c+1,:) ... else if (i,:,c+1,:) == 0 ... else if (i,:,c,:) == 0 etc. for d = 1:20 for i = 1:length(a) if (i,:,:,d) == (i,:,:,d+1) ... else if (i,:,:,d+1) == 0 ... else if (i,:,:,d) == 0 etc. even any help with four dimensional arrays would be useful as I'm so confused by the thought of more than three! I would advise you look at the paper to understand my meaning - they themselves have used the Iris data but only given an example with a 2D table. Thanks in advance, hopefully!

    I have a datagridview and it is bound to a stored procedure which returns a number of result columns. There is also a binding navigator with "Add New" button included. If I click "Add New" button, it creates a new row in datagridview automatically, and If I leave that new row by clicking a different row. datagridview invokes "commit" or something. so the question is How do I make datagridview not to commit adding a new row when I leave the cell?

    What would the proper way be to modify values on the fly as they are loaded into a DataTable by SqlAdapter.Fill()? I have globalized my application's log messages. An integer indicating the event type and serialized data relevant to the event is stored in the database as show below. The animation that I want is a flip vertically of the row. I am displaying some data in each row and what I want to do is displaying the source of the data "on the back" of the row, so to speak.     Sorry for the vague title but this one is hard to explain so bear with me please. I'm using Windows Vista at work for web development and sometimes when I Click or Alt-Tab to background window, the window will get focus but it will not be brought to the front. In order to bring the window to the front, I have to click on the applications border (when the resize cursor appears) and the window will then jump to the front. I've had this problem for about a year now and it happens at least a dozen times a day, but it doesn't do this all the time - seems random. I hope I have explained the issue fully (and you've understood it) and would appreciate any constructive answers or comments to solve this problem. Example: If I Alt-Tab from Google Chrome to Notepad and this problem randomly occurs, Google Chrome will remain in front of Notepad, however, I will be able to type text into Notepad while the window is behind Google Chrome. Clicking on Notepad's content area will not bring it to the front but clicking it's window border will. Video Exampe http://vimeo.com/19388998 In this video, I clicked from Google Chome to UltraEdit and chrome stayed in font, but as you can see, I can still type in UltraEdit. I'm starting to believe that this could be a bug in Google Chrome so I'll continue to watch if this between other applications.

Anyone's got any ideas why? I'm not sure the amount of global variables in this code is any good, but I didn't design it and only got until tomorrow to fix and finish it, so workarounds are welcome! What I want to see if possible at all is i++; is generalized to i horizontal horizontal; when horizontal taking the value of +.     On my production stack, I have a front-end server and a Mongo server. I would like to be able to set a cron job on the front-end server to create some logs daily. I wrote a script that does this: ./mongo server:27017/dbname --quiet my_commands.js If I run it from the Mongo server as above, it works fine. However, I would like to be able to run it from the front-end server. When I try to do that, I get: -bash: mongo: command not found Since mongo is not installed on the front end server, it gives me that error. Is it possible to somehow bind mongo to my mongo on the Mongo server?

  • Excel 2008 Cant Parse HTML

    I need to export a gridview to excel, I put the return html code from the gridview to a HtmlTextWriter and put this into the response. The result file work fine in excel, excel can parse the html and the result is readable, work perfect on excel 2003 and 2007, but in some machines with Excel 2008 (MACOS) excel shows only the raw html code and can't process this html code. Any idea to configure excel?     I am using a list to keep track of a number of custom Row objects as follows: Public Rows As List(Of Row)() Row has 2 properties, Key (a String) and Cells (an ArrayList). I need to be able to sort each Row within Rows based on a developer defined index of the Cells ArrayList. So for example based on the following Rows Row1.Cells = ("b", "12") Row2.Cells = ("a", "23") Rows.Sort(0) would result in Row2 being first in the Rows list. What i want is something similar to pages that have the arrows next to each row and the user can click up if they want that row to go up.     I have a Gigabyte P55-UD3 motherboard which comes with a Realtek sound card and audio header for the front panel. My headset is permanently connected to the front panel (mic in, headphones in) and I also have speakers connected at the rear of the computer. What I want to achieve is that both the headphones and the speakers work at the same time. On my old PC with Realtek, I was able to do this by clicking "Device advanced settings" in the Realtek HD Audio Manager and then clicking "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously" and then doing some reassigning of front/rear settings in the Realtek Audio Manager (can't remember the details). But that doesn't seem to be working now - either the speakers play sounds or the headphones, not both at the same time. To pose the question differently, Windows plays the sounds on the "default device". I'd like to make both headphones and the speakers kind of like the default devices.
