I put it under webapp/resources/js/helloworld.js and I do import org.jboss.arquillian.graphene.javascript.Dependency; import org.jboss.arquillian.graphene.javascript.JavaScript; @JavaScript("helloworld") @Dependency(sources = "js/helloworld.js") public interface HelloWorld { String hello(); } and I got NPE when I inject @JavaScript private HelloWorld helloWorld; Please help. • How to use named_scope to incrementally construct a complex query?

    - by wbharding
I want to use Rails named_scope to incrementally build complex queries that are returned from external methods. I believe I can get the behavior I want with anonymous scopes like so: def filter_turkeys Farm.scoped(:conditions => {:animal => 'turkey'}) end def filter_tasty Farm.scoped(:conditions => {:tasty => true}) end turkeys = filter_turkeys is_tasty = filter_tasty tasty_turkeys = filter_turkeys.filter_tasty But say that I already have a named_scope that does what these anonymous scopes do, can I just use that, rather than having to declare anonymous scopes? Obviously one solution would be to pass my growing query to each of the filter methods, a la def filter_turkey(existing_query) existing_query.turkey # turkey is a named_scoped that filters for turkey end But that feels like an un-DRY way to solve the problem. Oh, and if you're wondering why I would want to return named_scope pieces from methods, rather than just build all the named scopes I need and concatenate them together, it's because my queries are too complex to be nicely handled with named_scopes themselves, and the queries get used in multiple places, so I don't want to manually build the same big hairy concatenation multiple times.

  • Global javascript variable not accessible in jquery change event

    - by Dan
I have to be missing something simple, but I'm really not sure what. I'm not a JS veteran, so this may be an easy answer - sure hope so :). I have a button that, when clicked, gets JSON data. When a drop-down is changed, I check to see if there is data, if there is, I want to clear it out as the drop-down indicates what data to retrieve when the button is clicked The Code: var selected, $locDialog; var locations = []; $(function() { // Save the selected Name selected = $("#selected option:selected").val(); // Setup Dialog for Locations $locDialog = $('#location-dialog').dialog({ autoOpen: false }); // If user changes the selected // 1. Prompt for confirmation // 2. If users confirms, clear data $('#selected').change(function() { if (locations) { var confirmed = confirm("Oh Rly?"); if (confirmed) { // Clear data var locations; } } }); // When user clicks "Location" Button.. $('.loc-select button').click(function() { if (!locations) { $.getJSON("/Controller/JSONAction", { selectedId: selected, pageNum: 1, pageSize: 100 }, function(data) { locations = data; $.each(locations, function(index, loc) { var $tr = $('<tr/>') .append($('<td/>') .append('<input type="checkbox" name="TEST-'+index+'" value="'+loc.Id+'"/>')) .append('<td>' + loc.Name + '</td>'); $("#location-dialog table tbody").append($tr); }); }); } $locDialog.dialog('open'); return false; }); }); Here's the thing, Inside the .click(...) callback, I can see locations is []. Now, when I am in the .change(...) callback, I see locations is undefined. Any help/insight, as always, is appreciated!

  • Accessing jQuery objects in the module pattern

    - by Stewart
Hello, Really getting in to javascript and looking around at some patterns. One I have come accross is the module pattern. Its seems like a nice way to think of chucks of functionality so I went ahead and tried to implement it with jQuery. I ran in to a snag though. Consider the following code <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>index</title> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"> $(document).ready(function(){ var TestClass2 = (function(){ var someDiv; return { thisTest: function () { someDiv = document.createElement("div"); $(someDiv).append("#index"); $(someDiv).html("hello"); $(someDiv).addClass("test_class"); } } })(); TestClass2.thisTest(); }); </script> </head> <body id="index" onload=""> <div id="name"> this is content </div> </body> </html> The above code alerts the html content of the div and then adds a class. These both use jQuery methods. The problem is that the .html() method works fine however i can not add the class. No errors result and the class does not get added. What is happening here? Why is the class not getting added to the div?

  • Which technology should I choose for 3d globe web application

    - by uther-lightbringer
Hello, i would like to ask you for an advice. I'm currently developing application in Spring consisting of Spring CRUD application as backend, SpringMVC application as tool for management and third part is where my problem lies as I need have application that renders 3d globe which is fed by data from backend from a data set selected by user (user may switch those at will). It has to be web application (though I would prefer not to implement this in flash/flex), composed of two main parts - main part is classic web GUI where user makes his choices and second part is 3d globe which renders the globe with selected set of data visualised. My question is, what do you think is the best option to implement this? Would be SpringMVC framework usable for this kind of application? I will be gratefull for any leads or directions, thank you.

  • Java accessing variables using extends

    - by delo
    So here I have two classes: Customer Order Class and Confirmation Class. I want to access the data stored in LastNameTextField (Customer Order Class) and set it as the text for UserLastNameLabel (Confirmation Class) after clicking a "Submit" button. For some reason however, the output displays nothing. Snippet of my code: package customer_order; public class customer_order extends Frame{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; protected JTextField LastNameTextField = null; private JButton SubmitButton = null; public String s; public customer_order() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Customer Order"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes LastNameTextField * * @return javax.swing.JTextField */ public JTextField getLastNameTextField() { if (LastNameTextField == null) { LastNameTextField = new JTextField(); LastNameTextField.setBounds(new Rectangle(120, 100, 164, 28)); LastNameTextField.setName("LastNameTextField"); } return LastNameTextField; } /** * This method initializes SubmitButton * * @return javax.swing.JButton */ private JButton getSubmitButton() { if (SubmitButton == null) { SubmitButton = new JButton(); SubmitButton.setBounds(new Rectangle(501, 225, 96, 29)); SubmitButton.setName("SubmitButton"); SubmitButton.setText("Submit"); SubmitButton.addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent e) { System.out.println("actionPerformed()"); // TODO Auto-generated Event stub actionPerformed() //THE STRING I WANT s = LastNameTextField.getText(); java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { new confirmation().setVisible(true); } }); } }); } return SubmitButton; } package customer_order; public class confirmation extends customer_order{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private JPanel jPanel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0:visual-constraint="58,9" private JLabel LastNameLabel = null; private JLabel UserLastNameLabel = null; // @jve:decl-index=0: /** * This method initializes frame * * @return java.awt.Frame */ public confirmation() { super(); initialize(); } private void initialize() { this.setSize(729, 400); this.setTitle("Confirmation"); this.add(getJPanel(), BorderLayout.CENTER); } /** * This method initializes jPanel * * @return javax.swing.JPanel */ private JPanel getJPanel() { if (jPanel == null) { UserLastNameLabel = new JLabel(); UserLastNameLabel.setBounds(new Rectangle(121, 60, 167, 26)); //THE PROBLEM?   • Using a singleton database class in functions and multiple scripts(PHP) - best use methods

    - by dscher
I have a singleton db connection which I get with: $dbConnect = myDatabase::getInstance(); which is easy enough. My question is what is the least rhetorical and legitimate way of using this connection in functions and classes? It seems silly to have to declare the variable global, pass it into every single function, and/or recreate this variable within every function. Is there another answer for this? Obviously I'm a noob and I can work my way around this problem 10 different ways, none of which is really attractive to me. It would be a lot easier if I could have that $dbConnect variable accessible in any function without needing to declare it global or pass it in. I do know I can add the variable to the $_SERVER array...is there something wrong with doing this? It seems somewhat inappropriate to me. Another quick question: Is it bad practice to do this: $result = myDatabase::getInstance()-query($query); from directly within a function?

  • Application.Idle causes high CPU usage

    - by Neal
Hello, I use the Application.Idle event to handle toolbar status (enable/disable) etc. quite extensively. As I'm beta testing Norton AntiVirus 2011, it brought to my attention that my app that I'm developing triggered a high CPU usage warning on at least one CPU. Sure enough, I opened the task manager and watched one of the four CPU's (quad core system) go to near 100%. I thought Application.Idle was the way to handle things when the application wasn't performing CPU tasks. Why is Application.Idle spiking the CPU? Here is how I attach to the event: AddHandler Application.Idle, AddressOf OnAppIdle Been using Application.Idle for a long time, never knew it would have this issue. Using VS 2010 .NET 4 Thank you.

  • [Ruby] Modifying object inside a loop doesn't change object outside of the loop?

    - by Jergason
I am having problems with modifying objects inside blocks and not getting the expected values outside the blocks. This chunk of code is supposed to transform a bunch of points in 3d space, calculate a score (the rmsd or root mean squared deviation), and store both the score and the set of points that produced that score if it is lower than the current lowest score. At the end, I want to print out the best bunch of points. first = get_transformed_points(ARGV[0]) second = get_transformed_points(ARGV[1]) best_rmsd = first.rmsd(second) best_points = second #transform the points around x, y, and z and get the rmsd. If the new points # have a smaller rmsd, store them. ROTATION = 30 #rotate by ROTATION degrees num_rotations = 360/ROTATION radians = ROTATION * (Math::PI/180) num_rotations.times do |i| second = second * x_rotate num_rotations.times do |j| second = second * y_rotate num_rotations.times do |k| second = second * z_rotate rmsd = first.rmsd(second) if rmsd < best_rmsd then best_points = second best_rmsd = rmsd end end end end File.open("#{ARGV[1]}.out", "w") {|f| f.write(best_points.to_s)} I can print out the points that are getting stored inside the block, and they are getting transformed and stored correctly. However, when I write out the points to a file at the end, they are the same as the initial set of points. Somehow the best_points = second chunk doesn't seem to be doing anything outside of the block. It seems like there are some scoping rules that I don't understand here. I had thought that since I declared and defined best_points above, outside of the blocks, that it would be updated inside the blocks. However, it seems that when the blocks end, it somehow reverts back to the original value. Any ideas how to fix this? Is this a problem with blocks specifically?

  • Ext.app.application object is erased after initialization

    - by Queequeg
I am trying to organize an existing extjs code in a more standard order (extjs wise). extjs version: extjs-4.0.2a. I've worked through the Extjs tutorial example and every thing went well. When I started working on the company's code I've notice there is no use of the application object there for I've added the Ext.application({...}); call. Ext.application({ name: 'FOO', appFolder: 'appFolderName', launch: function() { console.log('application was created'); } }); Upon loading the page I see the console.log output that is included in the "launch" function property - meaning the application object is created but when I look for it ("FOO" object) under the "window" object it is not there. Compering to the tutorial code the application object exist as a property of window. I encounter a few loading problems but I'm guessing the source of it all is this issue. What am I doing wrong? thanks.

  • C++ Why am I unable to use an enum declared globally outside of the class it was declared in?

    - by VGambit
Right now, my project has two classes and a main. Since the two classes inherit from each other, they are both using forward declarations. In the first object, right underneath the #include statement, I initialize two enums, before the class definition. I can use both enums just fine inside that class. However, if I try to use those enums in the other class, which inherits from the first one, I get an error saying the enum has not been declared. If I try to redefine the enum in the second class, I get a redefinition error. I have even tried using a trick I just read about, and putting each enum in its own namespace; that didn't change anything.

  • Where to store frequently used functions in a OOP correct way

    - by Stefan Kuijers
I'm working on a project which I want to build up OO. Now I came with a function that checks or a value is valid. private function valid(value:*, acceptedValues:Array):Boolean { for(var i:uint = 0; i < acceptedValues.length; i++) { if (value == acceptedValues[i]) { return true; } } return false; } As you can see, the function is very general and will be accessed across different classes. Now my question is; where do I store it in a OO correct way? Thanks in advance!

  • Declare Locally or Globally in Delphi?

    - by lkessler
I have a procedure my program calls tens of thousands of times that uses a generic structure like this: procedure PrintIndiEntry(JumpID: string); type TPeopleIncluded = record IndiPtr: pointer; Relationship: string; end; var PeopleIncluded: TList<TPeopleIncluded>; PI: TPeopleIncluded; begin { PrintIndiEntry } PeopleIncluded := TList<TPeopleIncluded>.Create; { A loop here that determines a small number (up to 100) people to process } while ... do begin PI.IndiPtr := ...; PI.Relationship := ...; PeopleIncluded.Add(PI); end; DoSomeProcess(PeopleIncluded); PeopleIncluded.Clear; PeopleIncluded.Free; end { PrintIndiEntry } Alternatively, I can declare PeopleIncluded globally rather than locally as follows: unit process; interface type TPeopleIncluded = record IndiPtr: pointer; Relationship: string; end; var PeopleIncluded: TList<TPeopleIncluded>; PI: TPeopleIncluded; procedure PrintIndiEntry(JumpID: string); begin { PrintIndiEntry } { A loop here that determines a small number (up to 100) people to process } while ... do begin PI.IndiPtr := ...; PI.Relationship := ...; PeopleIncluded.Add(PI); end; DoSomeProcess(PeopleIncluded); PeopleIncluded.Clear; end { PrintIndiEntry } procedure InitializeProcessing; begin PeopleIncluded := TList<TPeopleIncluded>.Create; end; procedure FinalizeProcessing; begin PeopleIncluded.Free; end; My question is whether in this situation it is better to declare PeopleIncluded globally rather than locally. I know the theory is to define locally whenever possible, but I would like to know if there are any issues to worry about with regards to doing tens of thousands of of "create"s and "free"s? Making them global will do only one create and one free. What is the recommended method to use in this case? If the recommended method is to still define it locally, then I'm wondering if there are any situations where it is better to define globally when defining locally is still an option.

  • Reusing named_scope to define another named_scope

    - by Sergei Kozlov
The problem essence as I see it One day, if I'm not mistaken, I have seen an example of reusing a named_scope to define another named_scope. Something like this (can't remember the exact syntax, but that's exactly my question): named_scope :billable, :conditions => ... named_scope :billable_by_tom, :conditions => { :billable => true, :user => User.find_by_name('Tom') } The question is: what is the exact syntax, if it's possible at all? I can't find it back, and Google was of no help either. Some explanations Why I actually want it, is that I'm using Searchlogic to define a complex search, which can result in an expression like this: Card.user_group_managers_salary_greater_than(100) But it's too long to be put everywhere. Because, as far as I know, Searchlogic simply defines named_scopes on the fly, I would like to set a named_scope on the Card class like this: named_scope from_big_guys, { user_group_managers_salary_greater_than(100) } - this is where I would use that long Searchlogic method inside my named_scope. But, again, what would be the syntax? Can't figure it out. Resume So, is named_scope nesting (and I do not mean chaining) actually possible?

  • C++ arrays as parameters, EDIT: now includes variable scoping

    - by awshepard
Alright, I'm guessing this is an easy question, so I'll take the knocks, but I'm not finding what I need on google or SO. I'd like to create an array in one place, and populate it inside a different function. I define a function: void someFunction(double results[]) { for (int i = 0; i<100; ++i) { for (int n = 0; n<16; ++n) //note this iteration limit { results[n] += i * n; } } } That's an approximation to what my code is doing, but regardless, shouldn't be running into any overflow or out of bounds issues or anything. I generate an array: double result[16]; for(int i = 0; i<16; i++) { result[i] = -1; } then I want to pass it to someFunction someFunction(result); When I set breakpoints and step through the code, upon entering someFunction, results is set to the same address as result, and the value there is -1.000000 as expected. However, when I start iterating through the loop, results[n] doesn't seem to resolve to *(results+n) or *(results+n*sizeof(double)), it just seems to resolve to *(results). What I end up with is that instead of populating my result array, I just get one value. What am I doing wrong? EDIT Oh fun, I have a typo: it wasn't void someFunction(double results[]). It was: void someFunction(double result[])... So perhaps this is turning into a scoping question. If my double result[16] array is defined in a main.cpp, and someFunction is defined in a Utils.h file that's included by the main.cpp, does the result variable in someFunction then wreak havoc on the result array in main?

  • Why can't my function access a variable in an enclosing function?

Ie: #!/usr/bin/env python2.4 '''Simple test of Python scoping rules''' def myfunction(): print 'Hope this works: '+myvariable def enclosing(): myvariable = 'ooh this worked' myfunction() if __name__ == '__main__': enclosing() Returns: NameError: global name 'myvariable' is not defined Am I doing something wrong? Is there more to it than the LEGB resolution order?

  • Return from parent sub in Perl

    - by JS Bangs
I want to write a subroutine which causes the caller to return under certain conditions. This is meant to be used as a shortcut for validating input to a function. What I have so far is: sub needs($$) { my ($condition, $message) = @_; if (not $condition) { print "$message\n"; # would like to return from the *parent* here } return $condition; } sub run_find { my $arg = shift @_; needs $arg, "arg required" or return; needs exists $lang{$arg}, "No such language: $arg" or return; # etc. } The advantage of returning from the caller in needs would then be to avoid having to write the repetitive or return inside run_find and similar functions.
