• JavaScript on Android randomly stops working

  Hi! I have an application that uses a WebView and a html-page with javascript functions. Randomly the JavaScript functions doesn't seem to be called. It works up to a random point (I have looked at this bug all day) can only be produced on hardware (HTC Legend) not on emulator. Basicly I'm using callback to javaScript whenever the user presses a button, these callbacks tell the html to redraw using javaScript functions. mHandler.post(new Runnable() { public void run() { mWebView.loadUrl("javascript:getDataLine()"); } }); The first line in this javaScript code is an alert that says that it has started, so that I can see that it's working. Settings alerts or console.log's everywhere won't help as it seems the problem is in the webview or in Android itself. I need a way to see what's going on in the background. Maybe see if a previous call failed and stalled the thread or something.

• Most efficient approach for multilingual PHP website

  I am working on a large multilingual website and I am considering different approaches for making it multilingual. The possible alternatives I can think of are: The Gettext functions with generation of .po files One MySQL table with the translations and a unique string ID for each text PHP-files with arrays containing the different translations with unique string IDs As far as I have understood the Gettext functions should be most efficient, but my requirement is that it should be possible to change a text string in the original reference language (English) without the other translations of that string automatically reverting back to English just because a couple of words changed. Is this possible with Gettext? What is the least resource demanding solution? Is using the Gettext functions or PHP files with arrays more or less equally resource demanding? Any other suggestions for more efficient solutions?

  Hello, I know that it may sound a silly question but i am really very confused. I am to work with one application that is having operations like PDF loading,annotation, scrolling,zooming and other such functions. Now my question is that i am little bit confused about what template i should use as i went through Quartz 2D Programming Guide and was little bit confused whether i'll be able to apply the above shown functions with the same guideline,as it displays the pdf page on the whole screen. Or is there any other way around? Please help me..Can i use UIWebView for the same functions as i listed above? I ll be grateful if you can help me. Thank you.

I’ve read that by decorating the WebMethod with a unique name, both functions should be exposed in the service metadata. This isn’t working. What am I missing?

• Aquamacs and IDLWAVE

  I've just installed the new Aquamacs 2.0 in my Mac Os X 10.6.3 and I'm an happy user of IDLWAVE on Aquamacs for programming in IDL. Unfortunately I run into a problem which I can't understand. I used in my configuration file to put the following (setq idlwave-surround-by-blank t) for the beautiful space around operator. This used to work till Aquamacs 2.0 preview b3 (third beta release) from that on, it stops to work and every time I type an operator (the same for '=' '<' '' etc) I got the following message Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-variable idlwave-expand-equal) (lambda nil (interactive) (self-insert-command 1) idlwave-expand- equal -1 -1)() call-interactively((lambda nil (interactive) (self-insert-command 1) idlwave-expand-equal -1 -1) nil nil) Any help is welcommed

  How to call a method using getattr? I want to create a metaclass, which can call non-existing methods of some other class that start with the word 'oposite_'.   There are a lot of impressive Boost libraries such as Boost.Lambda or Boost.Phoenix which go a long way towards making C++ into a truly functional language. But is there a straightforward way to create a composite function from any 2 or more arbitrary functions or functors? If I have: int f(int x) and int g(int x), I want to do something like f . g which would statically generate a new function object equivalent to f(g(x)). This seems to be possible through various techniques, such as those discussed here. Certainly, you can chain calls to boost::lambda::bind to create a composite functor. But is there anything in Boost which easily allows you to take any 2 or more functions or function objects and combine them to create a single composite functor, similar to how you would do it in a language like Haskell?

  Is there a possibility to write a GUI from inside a function? The Problem is: The callback of all GUI-functions work in the global workspace. But functions have their own workspace and can not access variables in the global workspace. • PL DOC source forge - 2 issues

  I'm attempting to use PLDOC source forge (http://pldoc.sourceforge.net/maven-site/) with my code to generate a neat page with comments of my liking. I'm coming across 2 issues, any help would be appreciated. 1 I've been using tags (/**, */) to make comments and this works perfectly for functions, but does not appear in procedures. My Functions and procedures are independent and not in packages, and trying to add comments before the PROCEDURE declaration just gets deleted when saved. 2 if i try to use the recommended method of getting the data directly from teh database (call pldoc.bat -url jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:ORCL -user SCOTT -password TIGER -sql SYS_OWNER.DBMS_PIPE,SYS_OWNER.DBMS_OUTPUT), it puts all the available functions and procedures under the user SIS_OWNER (SIS_owner is the only link available on the left hand side). I want to change this so that I can view all the methods in the list instead. Problem with procedures stated in 1 still exists with this method. Please let me know if you have overcome this and any pointers would be great. Thanks

• Can GraphViz be used for a graph editing GUI?

  I am creating an application which will allow a developer to create a program flow-chart by selecting pre-defined functions from a ToolBox (which will show up as small graphical elements). In other words, developer will select one or more pre-defined functions (graphical elements) from ToolBox and drag-drop on the main work area. The application will then, based on the flow of functions selected, will auto-generate ready-to-compile-code. I looked a GraphViz, but am not sure whether it can be used to create a GUI IDE for editing graphical elements. I am looking for a functionality similart to Microsoft Visio, where users can add/remove/drag-drop/ various shapes to create a diagram. Does GraphViz fit in here? If yes, can you direct me to some examples showing how to do it? If GraphViz cannot be used, what are the other open source/free components available? I am intending to build the final application in .Net.

  The working draft explicitly calls out that defaulted-functions must be special member functions (eg copy-constructor, default-constructor, etc). Which makes perfect sense. However, I don't see any such restriction on deleted-functions. Is that right? • Is There A Central Repository of Javascript Information?

  For example, if you want information of PHP functions, you can go to http://www.php.net/ . If you want information of Perl functions you can to to http://www.cpan.org/ and/or use perldoc. If you want information on Java you can go to http://java.sun.com and/or use javadoc. However, if you want information on Javascript methods/functions and their attributes, return values, etc. where do you go? The reason I ask is I was playing with the "focus()" method and wondering if it could be passed any values or if it returned anything when called. I have done a cursory Google search but haven't found much. Does such a beast exist or am I out of luck? Thanks for reading, and have a good day.

• JavaScript helper libraries? No DOM or AJAX stuff

  As I'm writing JavaScript I'm always missing some fairly basic language features that JavaScript just don't have. So is there any library that would bring such features as trim, sprintf, str.endwith and etc. functions to JavaScript ? I just have written those functions too many times and I'm also tired of copy/pasting them from my old code. It would be nice to have some library which has those implemented and tested in one place. Note that I'm not talking about Ajax/DOM-libraries like jQuery or Dojo and such. I know that those libraries bring some of the features that I'm talking here, but not all. And I would like to have also an environment independent library so that same library could be used with server side JavaScript . Best library so far that I've found is php.js, but I don't like how it is polluting the global namespace. I'm also not too fond of how PHP-functions are named.

• Flymake quits right ahead after loading with js2-mode

  When opening .js files, js2-mode and, subsequently, flymake-js is automatically loaded. But flymake unloads right ahead with the message Toggling flymake-mode off; better pass an explicit argument. However, when enabling it manually, using M-x flymake-mode, it keeps activated. Has anybody encountered similar behavior and has fixed it? My setup: I followed the instructions on emacswiki to set up Flymake to work with the most recent js2-mode with a little modification: (add-hook 'js2-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load))) instead of (add-hook 'javascript-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load)))

Removing the parentheses around the lambda yields Cannot convert 'lambda expression' to non-delegate type 'MonoTouch.Foundation.NSDateComponents'. What is the correct C# syntax? I need to retain the closures as there are a lot more in the code base that I am porting.

• Rewriting usort function because of fatal error (PHP bug)

  The two following usort functions throw fatal error Base lambda function for closure not found in our productive environment (PHP 5.4). This seems to be a known PHP bug that should be fixed by now (https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=52144), but it still occurs for us. Anyway, we unfortunately don't have time to figure out what's wrong with our PHP configurations etc. We would like to rewrite these two functions without the use of anonymous functions, so that the error doesn't occur anymore.   I am creating a program in C++ in which I need to read a text file in. I have included the fstream header file, which allows me to open the file, but having added the include, I now receive countless errors relating to math.h functions. Examples: 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\cmath(19): error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'acosf' 1>c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 10.0\vc\include\cmath(19): error C2059: syntax error : ';' Is there any way I can include the text file reading functions of fstream without compromising the math.h functions? And why does this conflict occur anyway? /Edit/ It seems the errors are in the cmath standard header file. It is nothing I have access to, but for the sake of completion, here is the code that is causing the errors: using _CSTD acosf; using _CSTD asinf; using _CSTD atanf; using _CSTD atan2f; using _CSTD ceilf; (etcetera)

• Receiving SQL Server events from a CLR function

  I wrote a CLR class with several methods, which are linked as functions in a SQL Server 2005 database. When several of these functions are used in scope of one transaction or connection, I need another one to be automatically executed to clean up some stuff, at the time of transaction or connection close (either time is good for now, later I will decide which is best). I figure that receiving events from another new CLR functions can do, but I don't know how to achieve that. Can anyone point me to information on modules, documents or whatever, that can help me understand how to receive transaction or connection closing events in a CLR class, or how to execute a particular function when these events occur?

  Hi Business logic is coded in pl/sql packages procedures and functions. Java programs call pl/sql packages procedures and functions to do database work. pl/sql programs store exceptions into Oracle tables whenever an exception is raised. How would my java programs get the exceptions since the exception instead of being propagated from pl/sql to java is getting persisted to a oracle table and the procs/functions just return 1 or 0. Sorry folks i should have added this constraint much earlier and avoided this confusion. As with many legacy projects we don't have the freedom to modify the stored procedures.

  In parent class I have function, that operates under an array of functions, declared in child-class, number of functions for every child-class may vary. But since every function uses some object-variables, I can't declare them as static. I've try to do something like this: class A { public: typedef int (A::*func)(); func * fs; void f() { /*call functions from this->fs*/ } }; class B : public A { public: int smth; B(int smth) { this->smth = smth; this->fs = new func[1]; fs[0] = &B::f; } int f() { return smth + 1; } }; But, obviously it doesn't work.   Well I googled my question but I couldn't find anything or I it's not the correct question.. The issue is I need modify the primary_key name of the database :id with :another_id, in my project I need to use pgrouting and it contains several plsql functions and these functions uses the primary-key with the name gid and instead of modify the plsql functions is better change the id name, and I was thinking do this with a migration becouse I thought it's the rails way. Is it possible, and how I can do this ?? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

• How can I resolve naming conflict in given precompiled libraries?

  I'm linking two different libraries that have functions with exactly same name (it's opengl32.lib and libgles_cm.lib - OpenGL ES emulation under Win32 platform), and I want to be able to specify, which version I'm calling. I'm porting a game to OpenGL ES, and what I want to achieve, is a split-screen rendering, where left side is an OpenGL version, and right side is a ES version. To produce the same result, they will recieve slightly different calls, and I'll be able to visually compare them, effectively finding visual artifacts. It worked perfectly with OpenGL/DirectX at the same window, but now the problem is that both versions imports the functions with the same name, like glDrawArrays, and only one version is imported. Unfortunately, I don't have sources of any of that libraries. Is there a way to... I dont' know, wrap one library into additional namespace before linking (with calls like ES::glDrawArrays), somehow rename some of functions or do anything else? I'm using microsoft compiler now, but if there will be solution with another one (GCC/ICC), I'll switch to it.
