    Can I get solar winds to change a DNS alias in Active directory based upon a specific set of events or conditions? I have a collection of applications that use hostnames in combination with database names in order to resolve database connections, problem is that they haven't considered how a failover would work in practice so I want the product to provoke a change in DNS to point the apps at the right place if we get into a failure situation. Can it be done?

  • Windows 2012 VPN setup without Active Directory

    I have followed the guide here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qbpxKRb-94 But my situation differs with respect to there being no AD (Active Directory) setup. When I try to connect I get this in the server event log: "The user xx connected from x.x.x.x but failed an authentication attempt due to the following reason: The account does not have permission to dial in." Is there a way to enable this without AD?

  • TortoiseSVN update from Codeplex ends with "File or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

    I am in the process of working on Umbraco and when I go throuogh the process of downloading it from Codeplex via TortoiseSVN, I get the following error message. C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties Can't move 'C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties\.svn\tmp\entries' to 'C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties\.svn\entries': The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Has anyone seen this before and or know of a workaround? to download everything and sync?

    Problem Trying to setup CI Joe (https://github.com/defunkt/cijoe) and I get the following error: /usr/bin/env: ruby1.8: No such file or directory What I'm doing CI Joe is run as www-data, and the command I'm running is RAILS_ENV=test bundle exec rake -s test When I log in as www-data (sudo su www-data) and execute the same command it works. So I'm trying to figure out what may be wrong.     I am trying to redirect /folder to / using .htaccess but all am I getting is the Apache HTTP Server Test Page. My root directory looks like this: / .htaccess -/folder -/folder2 -/folder3 My .htaccess looks like this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/folder/ RewriteRule (.*) /folder/$1 What am I doing wrong? I checked my httpd.conf (I'm running Centos) and the mod_rewrite library is being loaded. As a side note, my server is not a www server, it's simply a virtual machine so it's hostname is centosvm.

    I am using .htaccess file to redirect all web traffic in a folder to ssl, because the directory prompts users for a login. When a user logs in they are redirected from https://subdir.mailmarkup.org/ to https://subdir.mailmarkup.org/~homedir/subdir. I want users to be redirected from http to https, and this is occuring successfully, however, I do not want users redirected from the first path mentioned above to the second. How do I prevent this?

    I have following scenarios: Single partition mounted as /, with lots of disk space. There is a range of directories (/pg/tbs1, /pg/tbs2, /pg/tbs3 and so on), and I would like to limit total size of these directories. One option is to make some big files, and then mkfs them, and mount over loopback, and then set quota, but this makes expansion a bit problematic. Is there any other way to make the quota work per directory?

    I want to install qt4reactor so I went to the github page, it says: Unpack this directory into your PYTHONPATH I don't know what that means. I unziped the file and I tried to add the path to PYTHOPNPATH in the .bashrc file like this: export PYTHONPATH=/home/jacos/qtreactor But I can't import it whatsoever. What I want to ask is where exactly is my PYTHONPATH? How can I find that out? What's the right way to do this?

At least it should display on the same window each time open some file but it creates new windows for each file I open.   • unzip and maintain directory structure of archives

    On fedora-13, I tried using: unzip -j [nameof.zip] but this doesn't seem to maintain the folder structure of the original archive. I REALLY need to maintain this structure because the archive is a backup of all my m4a's which are being converted to mp3. If I just convert it as is, then i'll just have a single massive directory full of mp3's, but they won't be in their respective "artist" folder.
