  • Extract wav file from video file

    I am developing an application in which I need to extract the audio from a video. The audio needs to be extracted in .wav format but I do not have a problem with the video format. Any format will do, as long as I can extract the audio in a wav file. Currently I am using Windows Media Player COM control in a windows form to play the videos, but any other embedded player will do as well. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks

  • Locking behaviour is different via network shares

    I have been trying to lock a file so that other cloned services cannot access the file. I then read the file, and then move the file when finished. The Move is allowed by using FileShare.Delete. However in later testing, we found that this approach does not work if we are looking at a network share. I appreciate my approach may not have been the best, but my specific question is: Why does the below demo work against the local file, but not against the network file?   • Problem with multiple select removing more than 1 option

    Ok, there seems to be a problem with the JS Code for Opera browsers, as it only removes the last option tag that is selected within a multiple select tag, can someone please help me. Here is the HTML for this: <select id="actions_list" name="layouts" multiple style="height: 128px; width: 300px;"> <option value="forum">forum</option> <option value="collapse">collapse</option> <option value="[topic]">[topic]</option> <option value="[board]">[board]</option> </select> Ofcourse it's within a form tag, but there's a ton more code involved with this form, but here is the relevant info for this. Here is the JS that should handle this, but only removes the last selected option in Opera, not sure about other browsers, but it really needs to remove all selected options, not just the last selected option... argg var action_list = document.getElementById("actions_list"); var i = action_list.options.length; while(i--) { if (action_list.options[i].selected) { action_list.remove(i); } } What is wrong with this?   • Code to update HyperV Export file

    I am using the HyperV Module from Codeplex to do a "config only" export from a 2008R2 Hyper-V server. In order to import the configuration on another HyperV server, I need to edit the value of CopyVMStorage in the EXP file. This file is an XML file. I wrote the following code in PowerShell to do the update for me. The variable $existing is the existing exp file. $xml = [xml](get-content $existing) $xpath = '//PROPERTY[@NAME ="CopyVmStorage"]' foreach ($node in $xml.SelectNodes($xpath)) {$node.Value = 'TRUE'} $xml.Save($existing) This code makes the correct changes to the XML. However, when I go to import the file on the Hyper-V server, I get an error that says the file format is incorrect. I am wondering if the encoding of the file is incorrect or if there is something else going on. If I edit the file manually in wordpad, it imports without an issue. The filename is a GUID with a .exp extension, and it appears that the file name is too long for notepad to open. Notepad throws an error trying to open the file, which is why I went with WordPad. I have noticed that the file that is updated with PowerShell comes out formatted whereas the raw file is xml all bunched together with no whitespace. Any ideas on what "file format" means in this HyperV error message and how I might be able to use my code to automate this change in the XML without changing the file format?

    Hi all, I want to edit the timeout value of 'Time to display recovery options when needed' without using the UI display option. To navigate, Right click on 'Mycomputer' - Properties - Advanced tab - click on SETTINGS of 'Startup and recovery' = 2nd displayed check box. The value thought to be in c:\boot.ini file, but it has value of other timeout 'Time to display other operating systems'. After some searching, i found that 'c:\windows\bootstat.dat' file holds the timeout value for 'Time to display recovery options when needed'... but, i am not able to decode the .dat file or edit that file.. any suggestions would he helpful for me..   • Apache and linux file permissions can't browse file or directories

    I just copied my magento site over to a local server running CentOS 5.4. The browser said it can't locate the location of the stylesheets. The stylesheets are within /skin/frontend/my_new_interface/design2/css. I tried to view in the browser and I can't view any of the files within the css directory. I verified a million times that I'm typing in the correct location. I can view files within /skin/frontend/my_new_interface/design2. Can't browse directories within browser however. I typed in ls -l css and get: -rwxr-xr-x 1 apache apache listed for all the files I tried chmod -R 755 and the directories I changed the apache conf Options Indexes But still when I browse the directories I get Forbidden. However, in another fresh installation of magento in the same www dir, I am able to browse directories. As far as I can tell both installations have same ownership and permissions. I also tried find . -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \; which was recommended in the magento wiki I've just run out of ideas.

    So here is my code if (!File.Exists(pathName)) { File.Create(pathName); } StreamWriter outputFile = new StreamWriter(pathName,true); But whenever I run the program the first time the path with file gets created. However once I get to the StreamWriter line my program crashes because it says my fie is in use by another process. Is there something I'm missing between the File.Create and the StreamWriter statements?

    I have a large raw data file (up to 1GB) which contains raw samples from a USB data logger. I need to store extra information relating to the file (sample rate, description, trigger point, last seek position etc) and was looking into adding this as a some sort of header. The header file should ideally be human readable and flexible so I've so far ruled out some sort of binary serialization into a header. I also want to avoid two separate files as they could end up separated when copied or backed up. I remembered somebody telling me that newer *.*x Microsoft Office documents are actually a number of files in a zip. Is there a simple way to achieve this? Could I still keep the quick seek times to the raw file?

    We have a designer creating a user interface for an application. The main window has several QStackedWidgets used for in place panel switching. What I'd like to be able to do is extract each individual panel that makes up each page of the QStackedWidget into it its own .ui file. Is there an easy way to accomplish this from within Qt Designer, or are there any other tools to help accomplish this task short of redesigning all of the panels in their own .ui files?
