  • JTable data only shown after scrolling

    I wrote a method, that creates my DefaultTableModel and there I'm going to add my records. When I set the model to my JTable, the data rows are blank. After scrolling the data gets displayed correct. How can I avoid this and display the data from the first moment?   • How to move point on arc?

    I am writing an app that is simulating RobotArm movement. What I want to achieve, and where I have couple of problems is moving a Point on arc (180degree) that is arm range of movement. I am moving an arm by grabbing with mouse end of arm (Elbow, the Point I was talking about), robot can have multiple arms with diffrent arm lenghts. If u can help me with this part, I'd be grateful.   • Androids ExpandableListView - where to put the button listener for buttons that are children

    I have been playing around a lot with the ExpandableListView and I cannot figure out where to add the button listeners for the button that will be the children in the view. I did manage to get a button listener working that uses getChildView() below, but it seems to be the same listener for all the buttons. The best case scenario is that I would be able to implement the button listeners in the class that instantiates the ExpandableListAdapter class, and not have to put the listeners in the actual ExpandableListAdapter class.   • Set Caret position with JTextArea in JScrollPane

    Right now I have a JTextArea inside of a JScrollPane. For the current content it has both a vertical and horizontal scroll bar showing up. I'm trying to implement a search functionality where a user can search for a certain string and it will set the caret position to the first occurrence of that string. However it seems that JScrollPane only scrolls vertically when I set my caret position. So matching strings going off the JTextArea horizontally will completely get missed and the horizontal scroll bar won't scroll at all. I'm using the basic function setCaretPosition() for the JTextArea Does anybody have any idea why my JScrollPane isn't moving horizontally using setCaretPosition() Edit: It appears the horizontal scroll bar is scrolling but it moves so little that it's barely noticeable. I can only see the very first pixel of the character. Is there a way to have the scrollbar center (or as much as possible) to the caret position?

  • how to share a variable between two threads

    I just inherited some code, two threads within this code need to perform a system task. One thread should do the system task before the other thread. They should not be performing the system task together. The two threads do not have references to each other. Now, I know I can use some sort of a semaphore to achieve this. But my question is what is the right way to get both threads to access this semaphore. I could create a static variable/method a new class : public class SharedSemaphore { private static Semaphore s = new Semaphore (1, true); public static void performSystemTask () { s.acquire(); } public static void donePerformingSystemTask() { s.release(); } } This would work (right?) but this doesn't seem like the right thing to do. Because, the threads now have access to a semaphore, without ever having a reference to it. This sort of thing doesn't seem like a good programming practice. Am I wrong?

My problem at the very first time my action is being invoked. The selectionChanged method is called only after the menu item has been displayed (and not when the user has made the selection) which means that the call to a.setEnabled() will have no affect. Any ideas on how to make my action receive selectionChanged() notifications even before the fist time it is being invoked?

  • Single log file for multiple webapps

    In my tomcat there are multiple webapps deployed and they communicate with each other. Currently they all have their own log file. But when there is some issue comes from call I have to 1st check with the app to whom I made a call and check log file of respective apps involved in the call. So I want that, as all apps is deployed in same tomcat and sharing a common log4j, if a call made to any app then all logs should be in a single log file and no matters how my webapps are involved all error comes from any webapp during the call should be in a single log file. I have no idea how can I achieve this. So any help is appreciable. Edited: I think my question is not cleared so updated with use case: I have three webapps A, B, C having logs files as A.log, B.log and C.log. I made two calls. 1st one to A (that internally calls C) and 2nd to B (that internally calls C). Now logging of first call must be in A.log (with the logs of every step performed inside the webapp c) and second call must be in B.log (with the logs of every step performed inside the webapp c).

    I have created selectOneMenuItem(JSF).I placed my events on valueChangeListener / onchange like that <h:selectOneMenu id="ddl" value="#{Foo.attr}" onchange="submit()" valueChangeListener="#{Foo.renderFoo}"> When I select one vlaue from selectOneMenuItem then event fires.Now when I reselect that value ,then event doesn't fire (because this is the valueChangeListener event) so it doesn't fire.I want that event should fire on every selection even on again the same selection.I found onselect but unable to find that is it right and how can i use this onselect.Anyu help would be greatly appreciable

However, as the name would imply, the delegate Service needs a reference to the original service to delegate calls to. I'm having trouble figuring out how to override the bean definition while using the original bean def without running into a circular reference issue.     I have a class which contains sensitive information (Credit card info, phone numbers etc). I want to be able to pass this class to log4j, but have it obscure certain information. If I have a class UserInformation which has getPhoneNumber, getCreditCardNumber methods, how would I customise log4j or this class so that it will obscure the numbers correctly. I want the credit card number to be output as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-1234 and the phone number to be output as xxxx-xxx-xxx given that these would be 1234-1234-1234-1234 and 1234-567-890 Thanks
