  • Flymake quits right ahead after loading with js2-mode

    When opening .js files, js2-mode and, subsequently, flymake-js is automatically loaded. But flymake unloads right ahead with the message Toggling flymake-mode off; better pass an explicit argument. However, when enabling it manually, using M-x flymake-mode, it keeps activated. Has anybody encountered similar behavior and has fixed it? My setup: I followed the instructions on emacswiki to set up Flymake to work with the most recent js2-mode with a little modification: (add-hook 'js2-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load))) instead of (add-hook 'javascript-mode-hook '(lambda () (flymake-js-load)))

  • Wasteful Ajax Page Loading

    I've started a new job, and the portion of the project I'm working has a very odd structure. Every pages is a .Net aspx page, and it loads just fine, but nothing is really done at load time. Everything is really loaded from a jquery document.onready handler. What is even more...interesting...is that the onready handler calls some ajax calls that drop entire .aspx pages into divs on the page, but first it strips out several parts of the the returned page. I mean, how does a browser take out the html and head and other tags that don't have anything to do with what you are really trying to drop into that div? Also, he's returning things like asp:gridview controls, and the associate viewstate, which can be quite large if his dataset is big. Has anyone seen this before?

I tried to run the application on another windows 7 pc with CR runtime installed, it worked properly. I tried the same thing with windows xp but everytime the crystal report loads it gives an unhandled exception and the whole app stops working and closes. what to do in this case? or give me some suggestions how to make work with window-XP

  • Loading xml with Jquery - why doesn't this work

    I have regular javascript code and am trying to utilize JQuery just to load and parse an xml file. I have the following: function loadXml() { $(function() { $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "my_file.xml", dataType: "xml", success: parseXml }); }); } function parseXml() { alert("Parsing..."); } When calling loadXml I cannot get the callback success function to execute. I am running this all locally and my_file.xml resides in the same directory as this javascript. Any ideas?

  • How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

    I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.

Sadly when the box loads in IE, the content of the website doesn't. This means when I user closes the box, they are left the with background.   • How to determine loading status of images not attached to the DOM

    I am working on a bit of javascript to plot data on a <canvas. The data points are marked by one of several different (small) image files. I am attempting to have the plot method wait until all the images are loaded. My best attempt thus far is such: var icon = { left : { air : new Image(), bone : new Image(), }, right : { air: new Image(), bone : new Image(), }, }; icon.left.air.src = option.imgPath + 'left.air.png'; icon.right.air.src = option.imgPath + 'right.air.png'; icon.left.bone.src = option.imgPath + 'left.bone.png'; icon.right.bone.src = option.imgPath + 'right.bone.png'; function main() { Canvas.draw(); // Make sure our image icons are loaded before we try to plot $(icon.left.air).load(function() { $(icon.right.air).load(function() { $(icon.left.bone).load(function() { $(icon.right.bone).load(function() { Data.plot(); }); }); }); }); } This works as expected most of the time. On occasion, it will fail and no data will be plotted. Inserting several console.log() statements shows that the script will silently stop working through the series of .load() statements, though code that comes after will be executed. My questions are as follows: Am I approaching this the right way? Is there a way to attach an event to my icon object that will fire once all of the images inside are loaded? This is a jquery plugin, so obviously jquery-based solutions are just as acceptable as vanilla javascript.

  • Loading multiple copies of a group of DLLs in the same process

    Background I'm maintaining a plugin for an application. I'm Using Visual C++ 2003. The plugin is composed of several DLLs - there's the main DLL, that's the one that the application loads using LoadLibrary, and there are several utility DLLs that are used by the main DLL and by each other. Dependencies generally look like this: plugin.dll - utilA.dll, utilB.dll utilA.dll - utilB.dll utilB.dll - utilA.dll, utilC.dll You get the picture. Some of the dependencies between the DLLs are load-time and some run-time. All the DLL files are stored in the executable's directory (not a requirement, just how it works now). The problem There's a new requirement - running multiple instances of the plugin within the application. The application runs each instance of a plugin in its own thread, i.e. each thread calls The plugin's code, however, is nothing but thread-safe - lots of global variables etc.. Unfortunately, fixing the whole thing isn't currently an option, so I need a way to load multiple (at most 3) copies of the plugin's DLLs in the same process. Option 1: The distinct names approach Creating 3 copies of each DLL file, so that each file has a distinct name. e.g. plugin1.dll, plugin2.dll, plugin3.dll, utilA1.dll, utilA2.dll, utilA3.dll, utilB1.dll, etc.. The application will load plugin1.dll, plugin2.dll and plugin3.dll. The files will be in the executable's directory. For each group of DLLs to know each other by name (so the inter-dependencies work), the names need to be known at compilation time - meaning the DLLs need to be compiled multiple times, only each time with different output file names. Not very complicated, but I'd hate having 3 copies of the VS project files, and don't like having to compile the same files over and over. Option 2: The side-by-side assemblies approach Creating 3 copies of the DLL files, each group in its own directory, and defining each group as an assembly by putting an assembly manifest file in the directory, listing the plugin's DLLs. Each DLL will have an application manifest pointing to the assembly, so that the loader finds the copies of the utility DLLs that reside in the same directory. The manifest needs to be embedded for it to be found when a DLL is loaded using LoadLibrary. I'll use mt.exe from a later VS version for the job, since VS2003 has no built-in manifest embedding support. I've tried this approach with partial success - dependencies are found during load-time of the DLLs, but not when a DLL function is called that loads another DLL. This seems to be the expected behavior according to this article - A DLL's activation context is only used at the DLL's load-time, and afterwards it's deactivated and the process's activation context is used. I haven't yet tried working around this using ISOLATION_AWARE_ENABLED. Questions Got any other options? Any quick & dirty solution will do. :-) Will ISOLATION_AWARE_ENABLED even work with VS2003? Comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Running sites on "localhost" is extremeley slow.

    Hello all, Having real trouble using my local host to test sites. It runs extremely slow! Sometimes up to a minute to load a page. I'm using firefox and the sites i'm testing run fine on other developers in my office local machines/ on the production server. I've gone through the normal things :- Disabled IPv6 Not running in debug mood Put the site in the highest app pool (High Isolated) on IIS 6. Taking of firewalls etc. The problem only seems to occur when hitting pages which contain some form of .net code in the code-behind. Appreciate that this a little bit of a vague topic / stab in the dark but would appreciate any sort of advice - it's horrible waiting a minute each refresh to try out a change! Cheers, Sean.

    I'm new to DOM and I'm having trouble removing multiple images that I loaded this loads 7 images (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc..) function loadImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var img = document.createElement("img"); img.src = "images/"+i+".jpg"; var idName = "img"+i+""; document.getElementById(idName).appendChild(img); } } this should remove all of them, but doesn't.. I think it breaks at the removeChild line. function removeImages() { for (var i = 1; i < 8; i++ ) { var idName = "img"+i+""; var d = document.getElementById(idName); d.removeChild(document.getElementById(img)); } } I think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong, because I don't fully understand how this works...

  • Dynamically loading modules in Python (+ threading question)

    I am writing a Python package which reads the list of modules (along with ancillary data) from a configuration file. I then want to iterate through each of the dynamically loaded modules and invoke a do_work() function in it which will spawn a new thread, so that the code runs in a separate thread. At the moment, I am importing the list of all known modules at the beginning of my main script - this is a nasty hack I feel, and is not very flexible, as well as being a maintenance pain. This is the function that spawns the threads. I will like to modify it to dynamically load the module when it is encountered. The key in the dictionary is the name of the module containing the code: def do_work(work_info): for (worker, dataset) in work_info.items(): #import the module defined by variable worker here... t = threading.Thread(target=worker.do_work, args=[dataset]) # I'll NOT dameonize since spawned children need to clean up on shutdown # Since the threads will be holding resources #t.daemon = True t.start() Question 1 When I call the function in my script (as written above), I get the following error: AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'do_work' Which makes sense, since the dictionary key is a string (name of the module to be imported). When I add the statement: import worker before spawning the thread, I get the error: ImportError: No module named worker This is strange, since the variable name rather than the value it holds are being used - when I print the variable, I get the value (as I expect) whats going on? Question 2 As I mentioned in the comments section, I realize that the do_work() function written in the spawned children needs to cleanup after itself. My understanding is to write a clean_up function that is called when do_work() has completed successfully, or an unhandled exception is caught - is there anything more I need to do to ensure resources don't leak or leave the OS in an unstable state? Question 3 If I comment out the t.daemon flag statement, will the code stil run ASYNCHRONOUSLY?. The work carried out by the spawned children are pretty intensive, and I don't want to have to be waiting for one child to finish before spawning another child. BTW, I am aware that threading in Python is in reality, a kind of time sharing/slicing - thats ok Lastly is there a better (more Pythonic) way of doing what I'm trying to do?

  • Loading user control dynamically looses data

    I have a created a user control. This user control I dynamically load on a page inside Telerik Panelbar control. I have done all necessary coding to save the viewstate and load this dynamically created usercontrol every time page loads. On this User control I have a asp panel. By default this panel is invisible. When user clicks a button on this user control panel is made visible. On page load of this user control I populate all the controls on this panel. Everything works fine if I don’t load this use control dynamically but when I load this user control dynamically and if I make panel visible by default then only all fields on the panel are populated. But if I make by default invisible and on button click make panel visible none of the text boxes or comboboxes are populated. I populate comboboxes on page load of the userControl but inbetween postbacks all the comboboxes on the user control loose data.     Hi, I'm trying to use the jQuery colorbox plugin to show a little warning when a warning icon is clicked. Check out the problem: - Go to http://dev.imagineelection.com/browse/zip/10011 - Click on one of the warning icons (scroll down to see one). See how the colorbox that pops up is empty? I've tried to isolate the problem: - If you click "View Source" -- the div id="address-alert" is in there - If you click "View Generated Source" (for example, with Firefox Web Developer plugin) -- the div id="address-alert" has been taken out, but it has not been replaced inside the new div id="cboxCurrent" that colorbox has put at the top of the page The jQuery call I'm doing is: if (jQuery().colorbox) { $(".warning-class").colorbox({width:"50%", inline:true, href:"#address-alert"}); } What is going on? Why won't the inline content work?

For example if I have the following two entities. public class Parent implements Serializable{ @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String key; @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.ALL) private List<Child> children = new ArrayList<Child>(); //getters and setters } public class Child implements Serializable{ @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) @Extension(vendorName="datanucleus", key="gae.encoded-pk", value="true") private String key; private String name; @ManyToOne private Parent parent; //getters and setters } I can save the parent and a child just fine using the following: Parent parent = new Parent(); Child child = new Child(); child.setName("Child Object"); parent.getChildren().add(child); em.persist(parent); However when I try to load the parent and then try to access the children (I know GAE lazy loads) I do not get the child records. //parent already successfully loaded parent.getChildren.size(); // this returns 0 I've looked at tutorial after tutorial and nothing has worked so far. I'm using version 1.3.3.1 of the SDK. I've seen the problem mentioned on various blogs and even the App Engine forums but the answer is always JDO related. Am I doing something wrong or has anyone else had this problem and solved it for JPA?
