  • How do you apply a Theme to a Silverlight 3 application?

    I am trying to build a Silverlight website, using standard Silverlight controls. I read that Silverlight 3 comes with 9 proffessionally design Themes. I really want to use them, but everywhere I look just talks about making you own theme, or other tangential topics. Can anyone tell me how to apply one of the out-of-the-box themes? Or, if there is any tribal knowledge that those themes suck, where some other standard themes can be found?

  • Is there a Moria like theme for Visual Studio 2010?

    Is there some cool Moria like theme for Visual Studio 2010? Mine is highlighting gray font with gray background! I just can't configure it on Tools-Options-Environment-Fonts and Colors menu. Visual Studio doesn't seem to show an item for this "highlighting keyword/tag system". You select a variable on variable called myVar, and it highlights all with the same name but with a grayer color and gray background. I just can't read it and can't set it.

CAML it’s a markup language like html that allows developers to do queries against SharePoint lists, it’s syntax is very easy to understand and it allows to add logical conditions like Where, Contains, And, Or, etc, just like a SQL Query. For one of our projects we have the need to do a filter on SharePoint views, the problem here is that the view it’s a list containing a CAML Query with the filters the view may have, so in order to filter the view that’s already been filtered before, we need to append our filters to the existing CAML Query. That’s not a trivial task because the where statement in a CAML Query it’s like this: <Where>   <And>     <Filter1 />     <Filter2 />   </And> </Where> If we want to add a new logical operator, like an OR it’s not just as simple as to append the OR expression like the following example: <Where>   <And>     <Filter1 />     <Filter2 />   </And>   <Or>     <Filter3 />   </Or> </Where> But instead the correct query would be: <Where>   <Or>     <And>       <Filter1 />       <Filter2 />     </And>     <Filter3 />   </Or> </Where> Notice that the <Filter# /> tags are for explanation purpose only. In order to solve this problem we created a simple component, it has a method that receives the current query (could be an empty query also) and appends the expression you want to that query.   • How do I use theme preprocessor functions for my own templates?

    I have several .tpl.php files for nodes, CCK fields, and Views theming. These template files have a lot of logic in them to move things around, strip links, create new links, etc. I understand that this is bad development and not "The Drupal Way". If I understand correctly, "The Drupal Way" is to use preprocessor functions in your template.php file to manipulate variables and add new variables. A few questions about that: Is there a naming convention for creating a preprocessor function for a specific theme? For example, if I have a CCK field template called content-field-field_transmission_make_model.tpl, how would I name the preprocessor function? Can I use template preprocessor functions for node templates, CCK field templates, and Views templates? Do they have different methods of modifying template variables or adding new ones?

  • Set a specific stylesheet based on session variable in javascript

    I have an option for a user to select his/her own theme while logged into the system and this theme is set in a MYSQL Database and called each time the user logs in, this is called by: <?php $_SESSION['SESS_THEME_NAME']; ?> Now, I had this working in a PHP file but I need it to work in Javascript instead unfortunately. And I need some help. I looked at the code using the developers tools on Google Chrome and looks like the above code is not resolving within the javascript file. Which makes sense because you can't access session variables within a javascript file (as I found by searching Google.) The code is basically supposed to set the specific stylesheet based on the value extracted from the MYSQL database. So if the database says Default the script needs to tell the webpage to use the default.css file. And so on and so forth.   • iOS UITableViewCell UIImageView setting on different conditions

    I have an app that has a UITableView and in my Cells I have UIImageViews and UILabels that change images/textColors for a day theme and a night theme (trying to be automatically set). My issue is that I set the images and colors when the table is populated with cellForRowAtIndexPath and its during the day "theme", then if I reopen the app hours later in the night "theme" and the app is still in the "background" and not needing to be reloaded (ie viewDidLoad doesn't fire), the day "theme" shows until I scroll the UITableView and then the night "theme" shows when new cells are brought into view by scrolling. How should I set the objects in my cells when changing around time of the day? I was thinking to use an NSTimer, but I'm not sure how to update the objects in my cells. I was also thinking about using the appropriate methods in the AppDelagate to set things in motion, but is there a way to force reloading the TableView? Any suggestions?

  • Is it possible to *optionally* override a theme in Drupal 6?

    I want to override the theming of only one (custom) menu. I can do this with phptemplate_menu_tree() but - of course - it overrides the rendering of all menus. I've tried returning FALSE (an obvious technique IMO) if the menu is not the specific one I want to override - but this doesn't cause the overridden theme function to be called. My only alternative (when the menu is anything other than the specific one) is to call the overridden function from within phptemplate_menu_tree() - but this seems to defeat the whole point of the override system, since the default rendering function will be hard-coded therein. I hope the explanation is clear, and any help is greatly appreciated - tks.

  • Is it possible to use theme colors in Windows Forms apps?

    I normally make use of System Colors whenever possible when designing Windows Forms applications just so that it'll fit in with the user's preferences. But is it possible to use Theme Colors? I realize that this limits you in several ways (must be running Windows that supports it and has the Themes service running), so I would certainly like it if it could fall back on some other default, but since I'm fairly sure 99% of my users will have it available, I'd like to make use of it if possible. Specifically, for newer Windows versions (Vista and 7), things like hyperlinks have a softer more pastel-ish blue. The old System Colors do not define anything for links and the like, and in general are much more limited (coming from the 95 days) in choices and variety. Though WPF probably has better support, I'm not at liberty to use it. If some third party utility, assembly, or the like is necessary, it would also need to be free to use. I don't need anything that fancy, but in a perfect world I would be able to do something like this: linkLabel1.LinkColor = System.Drawing.ThemeColors.Hyperlink; Am I stuck just using the default Blue (0,0,255) and having them look out of place in Vista and above? I'll even settle for ugly p/invoke interop methods if need be...

After reading a lot on the internet and on this site, I found 4 kinds of answer: and Most populare (even from QC): You can't, it's designed like that by Microsoft. Create a component that let you draw it like you want. Buy expensive component set that draws like you want. Do not use themes. OK, but I am still unhappy with that. Giving a user colored feedback for the status of a property/data he has on a form, seems legitimate to me. Then I just installed the MSVC# 2008 Express edition, and what a surprise, they can change the color of the font (property ForeColor of the check box) Then what? It does not seem to be a "it's designed like that, by Microsoft." then now the question again: How can I change the font color of a TCheckBox (or any handled control) with Delphi 7 through Delphi 2007 on a theme-enabled application?

This will open your Personalization panel and will automatically change your system fonts, window style, background, and more. Your desktop will go from your Windows 7 look… to a modified Windows 7 look that is reminiscent of the Commodore 64. Open an application to see all the changes … notice the old-style font in the Window boarder and menus. This theme also changes your Computer, Recycle Bin, and User folder icons to Commodore 64-inspired icons.   • Winners of the Oracle Excellence Award—Eco-Enterprise Innovation

    Did you get a chance to attend Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco? With 60,000 attendees and hundreds of sessions to choose from—there was a lot going on. One of my favorite sessions was the Eco-Enterprise Awards and Sustainability Executive Panel Discussion. During this session, Jeff Henley, Oracle Chairman of the Board, announced the winners of the 2013 Oracle Excellence Award—Eco-Enterprise Innovation. It was an enlightening session as we heard several of the winning customers discuss the importance of sustainability to their company and how they’re using various Oracle products to help with their sustainability initiatives. The winning customers include: Centennial Coal, Indaver nv, Korea Enterprise Data, National Guard Health Affairs, Schneider National, SThree, Telstra International Group, Trex Company, University of Salzburg, Walmart, and Yeoncheon County Office.   • No anti-aliasing with Xmonad

    I'm looking into Xmonad. One problem I'm having is that most of my applications in Xmonad don't have anti-aliasing. For example gnome-terminal & evolution. I have this in my .Xresources: Xft.dpi: 96 Xft.lcdfilter: lcddefault Xft.antialias: true Xft.autohint: true Xft.hinting: true Xft.hintstyle: hintfull Xft.hintstyle: slight Xft.rgba: rgb And this in my .gtkrc-2.0: gtk-theme-name="Ambiance" gtk-icon-theme-name="ubuntu-mono-dark" gtk-font-name="Sans 10" gtk-cursor-theme-name="DMZ-White" gtk-cursor-theme-size=0 gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_BOTH gtk-toolbar-icon-size=GTK_ICON_SIZE_LARGE_TOOLBAR gtk-button-images=1 gtk-menu-images=1 gtk-enable-event-sounds=1 gtk-enable-input-feedback-sounds=1 gtk-xft-antialias=1 gtk-xft-hinting=1 gtk-xft-hintstyle="hintfull" gtk-xft-rgba="rgb" include "/home/leon/.gtkrc-2.0.mine" But I still have no anti-aliasing. When I launch gnome-settings-daemon I do get anti-aliasing. But I don't want to run gnome-settings-daemon. What could be the problem? I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop.

  • Index page content identical to page 1 of a gallery-type website

    I have a gallery type website, e.g. a site that lists blog posts or pictures in a paginated manner. However, I have 2 pages that have identical content: example.com/index.html example.com/page/1 Page 2, 3 and so on have different content naturally. However, for SEO purposes, what is the best way of telling Google that page 1 is identical to index.html? Should I 302 redirect index.html to /page/1 so index.html is non-existent, so to say or should I put a canonical tag in /page/1 (but not on /page/2) that points to index.html?
