  Can anyone help me by giving your postfix configuration file as a reference so that I can find my mistakes? I'm working on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. My goal is to set up a mailserver in a campus network. Postfix shows it is running but no mail is sent to var/spool/mail I send mail using mail command at terminal. • Varnish 503 Guru Mediation errors with pfsense and healthy apache

  We are running a pfsense firewall / load balancer with varnish as service, In front of Fedora linux webservers running apache. We are getting intermittent 503 guru mediation errors. We are a bit stuck scratching our heads because it is not easily repeatable. The timeouts are set to 30s (connect and first byte) but yet the 503 page will show instantly, not after 30s. Then if you refresh immediately it may very well work instantly and sometimes for a 100 refreshes. The load average on the web servers is < 1, the DB server is < 3 (all servers (web, db, pfsense/varnish) are physical rather than VM. I would have thought if the timeouts were being hit then the 503 page would only appear after 30s am I mistaken? Also when an error happens there does not appear to be any corresponding error in apache's log files. This seems to affect pages as well as images, so it is possible to have the page load fine, and for 9/10 images on the page to be fine but 1 not work An example of the varnish debug is below. • Upgrade Kubuntu 11.10 to 12.10 I get error code that 11.10 is outdated

  I installed Kubuntu 11.10 on top of Windows 7. Everything works fine. I tried to update 11.10 to 12.10 and I get error Code that 11.10 is outdated and not supported. Update stops. I downloaded 12.10 iso but there is no upgrade option, just install. How can I remove the 11.10 installation and install 12.10. (Without breaking my Windows 7 install.) I need dual boot option. • How is the Linux repository administrated?

  I am amazed by the Linux project and I would like to learn how they administrate the code, given the huge number of developers. I found the Linux repository on GitHub, but I do not understand how it is administrated. For example the following commit: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/31fd84b95eb211d5db460a1dda85e004800a7b52 Notice the following part: So one authored and Torvalds committed. How is this possible. I thought that it was only possible to have either pull or pushing rights, but here it seems like there is an approval stage. I should mention that the specific problem I am trying to solve is that we use pull requests to our repo. The problem we are facing is that while a pull request is waiting to get merged, it is often broken by a commit. This leads to a seemingly never ending work to adapt the fork in order to make the pull request merge smoothly. Do Linux solve this by giving lots of people pushing rights (at least there are currently just three pull requests but hundreds of commits per day).

• Programmaticaly finding the Landau notation (Big O or Theta notation) of an algorithm?

  I'm used to search for the Landau (Big O, Theta...) notation of my algorithms by hand to make sure they are as optimized as they can be, but when the functions are getting really big and complex, it's taking way too much time to do it by hand. it's also prone to human errors. I spent some time on Codility (coding/algo exercises), and noticed they will give you the Landau notation for your submitted solution (both in Time and Memory usage). I was wondering how they do that... How would you do it? Is there another way besides Lexical Analysis or parsing of the code? PS: This question concerns mainly PHP and or JavaScript, but I'm opened to any language and theory.

  Is there anyone out there who has mastered to retrieve some data programmatically from Eloqua? First of all, I'm more or less a newbie, as far as JAVA. I can follow tutorials, take directions and will Google till my fingers bleed. I understand the basics and am slightly familiar with OOP. My main problem is that I have a Friday deadline (and tomorrow is Thanksgiving). At any rate, all the Eloqua code snippets (that I've been able to find) illustrate one aspect of a specific issue, and that's it. In my case, I would greatly appreciate a JAVA project of some sort, with all the necessary files to do web services (WSDL, SOAP and perhaps WSIT) and the main class and all that included. No, I don't want you to do my work for me! Just give me enough to find my way around, enter the information I need to retrieve and all that. I'll take it from there. Any pointers, links or suggestions?

  I think I already got the idea of the Entity System inspired by Adam Martin (t-machine). I want to start using this for my next project. I already know the basic of Entity, Components, and Systems. My problem is how to handle UI / HUD. For example, a quest window, skill window, character info window, etc. How do you handle UI events (eg. pressing a button)? These are stuff that doesn't need to be processed every frame. Currently, I'm using MVC to code UI but I don't think that'll be compatible for Entity System. I've read that Entity System is embedded on a larger OOP. I don't know if UI is outside of ES or not. How do I approach this one?

I don't know how can I let the user interactively draw a class diagram in Java. When creating a comment, various things happen: creating the comment object, associations, persisting sending notification emails to post's author given his preferences sending notification to moderators given their preferences updating a fulltext database for search ... I could put all this in the controller, but what if I want to reuse this code ? e.g. I would like to provide an API for posting comments. I could also put this in the model, but I wonder if I won't lose flexibility by doing so. And would it be acceptable to do all of this from the model layer ? What would you do ?
