  • JavaScript function to validate an integer value

    Hello, I'm building a shopping cart and I would like to use a JavaScript function to validate user input when entering the quantity value in the quantity text input. I would like to allow the entering of integer values only (no floats, no other characters). I know that I can apply this function using onKeyUp event and also I found isNaN() function, but it returns true even for floats (which is not ok). Can you guys help me out with this one? Thanks.

I know with c style strings you can't just do string assignments they have to be actually copied. in this case I was using this in conjunction with static char test thinking by having it as static the memory would not get destroyed and i can then simply point mystuff to test and be done with it. i would later have address the memory cleanup in the main function. but anyway this never worked. } int main(void) { char * mystuff = new char [7]; //allocate memory on heap where the pointer will point cool(mystuff); std::string test_case(mystuff); std::cout<<test_case.c_str(); //this is the only way i know how to use cout by making it into a string c++ string. delete [] mystuff; return 0; } in the case, of a static array in the function why would it not work. in the case, when i allocated memory using new in the function does it get created on the stack or heap? in the case, i have string which needs to be copied into a char * form. everything i see usually requires const char* instead of just char*. I know i could use reference to take care of this easy. Or char ** to send in the pointer and do it that way. But i just wanted to know if I could do it with just char *. Anyway your thoughts and comments plus any examples would be very helpful.

  • Why does this C program compile?

    I've just come across someone's C code that I'm confused as to why it is compiling. There are two points I don't understand. First, the function prototype has no parameters compared to the actual function definition. Secondly, the parameter in the function definition doesn't have an type. #include <stdio.h> int func(); int func(param) { return param; } int main() { int bla = func(10); printf("%d",bla); } Could someone please explain to me why this works? I've tested it in a couple of compilers and it works fine.

    I have this terrible problem with IE 7/8/9. I wrote an app using Dojo toolkit 1.8.0 and Play! framework. It works fine in all browser except for IE. Its 'developers tools' show no error, so does firebug.     It appears that regex (as in regular expressions) is not supported in excel, except via VBA. Is this so, and is it is, are there any "open source" custom VBA functions that support regex. In this case I'm looking to extract complex pattern within a string, but any implementation of a custom VBA function that expose support of regex within the function itself would be of use. If you know of semi-related function such as the IS function, feel feel to comment, though I'm really looking for a full regular expression implementation that is exposed via functions.     I have a function that takes in user input via std::cin: std::getline(std::cin, in); and creates a corresponding data structure by matching it with a regular expression. The function then returns this data structure. I'm using boost.test and I want to create a unit test to check that the output data type is correct given some inputs. However I don't know how to go about it since the input isn't passed as an argument to the function. EDIT: Is there a simple way to create a boost test case that feeds the function a string via standard input?

I am trying to identify in well over 100 bat files where each of about 100 SSIS Packages are running. I'm doing this in Windows batch, have tried about 20 various approaches without success - any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the following code which I use a lot of times in the class. for (int i = 0; i < someList.size(); i++) { for (int j = 0; j < someList.size(); j++) { if (i != j) { someList.get(i).sendMessageTo(someList.get(j))); //variable action } } } The purpose of the loop is to make each element in the List to send a message (or perform another action) to every element in the list except itself. Is there any way I can create a helper method so I don't have to repeat the loop code. I want to be able to state the variable action and call the helper method. Thanks.

    I have a table with multiple <tbody> elements. At a given momement, certain <tbody elements are visible and some are hidden, and I need to select only the visible ones. I use jQuery's :visible selector. Now the problem is that I need to perform that task before I display the table, AKA while the table is hidden, and then the :visible selector doesn't work. How can I select "visible" <tbody> elements while the table is hidden? Thanks.
