• Need help finding a unique value in array

  My code is complete minus one little flaw. It searches the array and prints out which values are unique, however it always counts the first entry as unique even if it is followed by the same value.   We have some common misconceptions on returning the last inserted identity value from tables. To return the last inserted identity value we have options to use @@IDENTITY or SCOPE_IDENTITY or IDENT_CURRENT function depending on the requirement but it will be a real mess if anybody uses anyone of these functions without knowing exact purpose. So here I want to share my thoughts on this. @@IDENTITY, SCOPE_IDENTITY and IDENT_CURRENT are almost similar functions in terms of returning identity value. They all return values that are inserted into an identity column. Earlier in SQL Server 7 we used to use @@IDENTITY to return the last inserted identity value because those days we don’t have functions like SCOPE_IDENTITY or IDENT_CURRENT but now we have these three functions. So let’s check out which one responsible for what. IDENT_CURRENT returns the last inserted identity value in a particular table. It never depends on a connection or the scope of the insert statement. IDENT_CURRENT function takes a table name as parameter. Here is the syntax to get the last inserted identity value in a particular table using IDENT_CURRENT function. SELECT IDENT_CURRENT('Employee') Both the @@IDENTITY and SCOPE_IDENTITY return the last inserted identity value created in any table in the current session. But there is little difference between these two i.e. SCOPE_IDENTITY returns value inserted only within the current scope whereas @@IDENTITY is not limited to any particular scope. • Getting Run time 1004 error in code

  I tried the code provided by vba express for combining sheet, while execution it is displaying Run Time error 1004: Application Defined or Object Defined Error: My Scenario is: I have a Excel, in that I have first sheet "Connection" and after it I have Sheet1, Sheet2 and so on. I am combining all sheets except Sheet"Conection" by saying start with sheet2. I tried following line of code to exclude "Connection" sheet: If Not Sheet.Name = "Connection" then but it did not work. Whatever the sheets I have in some of them I have large data in some cells. • Delphi - restore actual row in DBGrid

  Hi! D6 prof. Formerly we used DBISAM and DBISAMTable. That handle the RecNo, and it is working good with modifications (Delete, edit, etc). Now we replaced with ElevateDB, that don't handle RecNo, and many times we use Queries, not Tables. Query must reopen to see the modifications. But if we Reopen the Query, we need to repositioning to the last record. Locate isn't enough, because Grid is show it in another Row. This is very disturbing thing, because after the modification record is moving into another row, you hard to follow it, and users hate this. But when we have EDBTable, or Live/Sensitive Query, the MoveBy is dangerous to use, because if somebody delete or append a new row, we can relocate into wrong record. Then I tried to use the BookMark (see remark). But this technique isn't working, because it is show the record in another Row position... So the question: how to force both the row position and record in DBGrid? Or what kind of DBGrid can relocate to the record/row after the underlying DataSet refreshed? • awstats parse of postfix mail log drops all records

  I'm trying to get awstats to parse the postfix mail log, but it drops allmost all entries with messages like: Corrupted record (date 20091204042837 lower than 20091211065829-20000): 2009-12-04 04:28:37 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17480 Few more are dropped with an invalid LogFormat: Corrupted record line 24 (record format does not match LogFormat parameter): 2009-11-16 04: 28:22 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 14755 My conf LogFormat="%time2 %email %email_r %host %host_r %method %url %code %bytesd" I believe matches the log format (and besides is the log format I've seen everywhere for awstats mail parsing). Besides, is the same entry format as all the other entries in the mail log. Whatever is left is dropped too: Dropped record (host localhost and 127.0.0.1 not qualified by SkipHosts): 2009-12-07 04:28:36 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17152 I added SkipHosts="" to the .conf file but to no avail. I feel like awstats really has some personal quarrel with me today.

• awstats parse of postfix mail log drops all records

  I'm trying to get awstats to parse the postfix mail log, but it drops allmost all entries with messages like: Corrupted record (date 20091204042837 lower than 20091211065829-20000): 2009-12-04 04:28:37 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17480 Few more are dropped with an invalid LogFormat: Corrupted record line 24 (record format does not match LogFormat parameter): 2009-11-16 04: 28:22 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 14755 My conf LogFormat="%time2 %email %email_r %host %host_r %method %url %code %bytesd" I believe matches the log format (and besides is the log format I've seen everywhere for awstats mail parsing). Besides, is the same entry format as all the other entries in the mail log. Whatever is left is dropped too: Dropped record (host localhost and 127.0.0.1 not qualified by SkipHosts): 2009-12-07 04:28:36 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17152 I added SkipHosts="" to the .conf file but to no avail. I feel like awstats really has some personal quarrel with me today.

• What is some good lossless video codec for recording gameplay?

  I'm an avid gamer and I like to record my gameplay. Usually I've been using Fraps to do it, however I'm thinking of switching to Dxtory as it allows to write on multiple HDDs at once. Say I have 3 HDDs with the following write speeds: HDD1 with 50 mb/s, HDD2 with 22 mb/s and HDD3 with 45 mb/s. Combined write speed would be: 117 mb/s. Dxtory allows you to utilize all 3 HDD's at once while recording your gameplay. Using this formula: RGB24 YUV24: Width x Height x 3 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec) YUV420: Width x Height x 3 / 2 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec) YUV410: Width x Height x 9 / 8 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec) And recording in YUV420 colorspace at 1920x1080 with 30 fps I'd need about 95 mb/s write speed. Dxtory is good because it allows me to play with constant 60 fps while recording in 30 fps. Fraps does not (even though they say it does), once you start recording with Fraps, the game's fps drops. So I'm looking for a codec that doesn't need a very high write speed (bitrate) yet records in good (lossless) quality. Dxtory comes with its own codec, the Dxtory codec. Which allows me some experimentation. Fraps has it's own codec which I can use in Dxtory to expirement around. I also came across http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html . Are there more lossless codecs out there (besides Fraps' and Dxtory's) which are good for what I want to do? Edit: To clarify, yes, I'm aware a lossless codec always has "good" quality. But that's not what I'm looking for. Let me take the Fraps codec and Dxtory codec to clarify what I'm looking for. When I record with the Dxtory codec in RGB colorspace at 1920x1080 with targeted 30 fps, I can play the game at 60 fps, BUT I'm recording with 10-15 fps, that's because RGB with Dxtory needs much, much more write speed than my hdd can handle. When recording with Dxtory codec in YUV410 colorspace at 1920x1080 with targeted 30 fps, I can play at 60 fps and record at 30 fps, again, that's because YUV410 in Dxtory's codec takes much, much less write speed than RGB When recording with Fraps codec in ??? (I dunno the color space Fraps records in, I guess YUV420), I can play with 60 fps and record with 30 fps. What I'm looking for is a lossless codec that can record in YUV420 (or even RGB??) which does not exceed a write speed (or bitrate if you will) of 100 mb/s in 1920x1080 or in other words, which will allow me to record in constant 30fps. Obviously the best solution would be to buy an SDD, but that's not what I'm after.

  I currently have an SPF record with a hostname of @ that is: v=spf1 mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all I also have another record of" spf2.0/pra mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all We have had a lot of email being bounced back because of spam and now when I go to http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html? and check the "Does my domain already have an SPF record? What is it? Is it valid?" it says no spf record exists. However, when I send an email using our Amazon SES script and check the headers it says it passes the SPF test. Is there something I am missing? Do I need to place that text in quotes ""? Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

• Quiet Sound while recording using the "Stereo Mix" option on Windows XP.

  I'm trying to record some of my work, and the video capture program I'm using works fine. It's HyperCam2, and since it's not really professional, I don't care about that little thing in the corner. Anyways, If I check the record sound option and put it on the highest quality, and I want it to record the sounds playing from my computer, I have it record the "Stereo Mix" setting. However, after a quick test, I saw that even though my computer was at max volume, the recorded sound was very quiet, almost inaudible. Thinking it was just HyperCam, I downloaded Audacity, and only met similar results. While I'm not entirely savvy with hardware, I BELIEVE this to be my soundcard: SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

• Recording screen-casts on another computer

  We're trying to record the desktops of users using demo versions of our software (this is an in-house lab setup). We need to have the recording happen on a separate computer (just across the room), so that the recording software doesn't interfere with the user. Every screen recording software I've seen will only record what's happening on the computer its installed on; ie, you can't record what's happening on another computer. So it seems I need to cobble together a solution (unless anyone knows of software that will do this). Getting the video to the other computer seems easy enough. I'm using TightVNC with the DFMirage driver on the test computer. The recording computer connects to the test computer with TightVNC and then uses CamStudio to record what's happening. The real problem is how to deal with the audio. We need to record both what the user is saying (through a headset mic) as well as the sounds produced by the test computer. But VNC doesn't transmit audio. :( I'm not sure how to get both audio streams (mic and sounds) over to the recording computer. Any ideas?

My current server has a reverse DNS PTR record set up pointing its IP to mydomain.com. Is it bad to set up a reverse DNS PTR record for the new IP pointing to mydomain.com as well? Or should I wait until I do my migration to set up the record?

  Is is possible to send one or more additional records with a DNS response? For example, can a request for the A record of www.example.com result in a response containing the A record for www.example.com as well as the A record for www2.example.com? Is this compliant with the standard? Will it even help? ie. Will the typical client cache the additional record so that when it needs it in the near future, it won't result in another round-trip to the DNS server?

• Adding a second IP address for IIS - static vs dynamic A records

  I'm looking to add a second IP address to IIS so that I can run two sites with different SSL certificates. When I added one on my play box and ran ipconfig /registerdns both addresses were registered in DNS with the server's name. So, I deleted the A record for the new IP address and rebooted. That also registered both names. So, then I went into the network config for the adapter and, on the DNS tab, unchecked "Register this connection's addresses in DNS". I deleted the A record for the new IP address again and re-ran ipconfig /registerdns. This time, it deleted the A record for the old IP address and didn't created one for the new address. Neither of these is what I want: I want the main IP address to be registered and refreshed automatically as a dynamic DNS record and the second IP address to be registered and managed as a static address. Is there any way to achieve this?

• A single AD user can't log into a single Mac bound to the domain (DirectoryServices error). How can I resolve this?

  On our campus, we have about 60 Macs joined to our Active Directory domain. Most users have no problems logging into Macs, as long as their accounts are configured correctly. However, we have one particular user who is unable to log in to just some of the Macs. He has no problem with most of them, but there is one group of them (all built from the same image) that he can't log in to. The machine in question is running OS X 10.6.2. The relevant entries from secure.log are below, with the hostname and username redacted.
