  • .Net regex: what is the word character \w?

    Simple question: What is the pattern for the word character \w in c#, .net? My first thought was that it matches [A-Za-z0-9_] and the documentation tells me: Character class Description Pattern Matches \w Matches any \w "I", "D", "A", "1", "3" word character. in "ID A1.3" which is not very helpful. And \w seems to match äöü, too. What else? Is there a better (exact) definition available?

In hopes of striving for looser coupling, how would you suggest abstracting out this pattern? Also, what's the best approach for mapping 0..N functions to a fired event?

    I've want to match any occurrence of a search term (or list of search terms) within the tags of a document. My current solution uses preg (within a Joomla plugin) $pattern = '/matchthisterm/i'; $article->text = preg_replace($pattern,"<span class=\"highlight\">\\0</span>",$article->text); But this replaces everything within the HTML of the document so I need to match the tags first. Is this even the best way to achieve this?

Which is the right way to do something like: <xsl:template match="//m:properties/*[contains($pattern,name())]"> because when I launch my application, it claims it's not able to compile the stylesheet, since pattern is not defined but I'm setting it using the setParameter method and I was able to use another parameter defined in the same way but in a different context. My question is simple, is there a way using a tool like Puppet to do it without a painful learning curve? (or via other tools like http://ylastic.com) If yes, how?

  • How do I troubleshoot a "Bad Request" in Apache2?

    I have a PHP application that loads for all URLs except the home page. Visiting "https://my.site.com/" produces a "Bad Request" error message. Any other URL, for example, "https://my.site.com/SomePage/" works just fine. It's only the home page that does not work. All pages use mod_rewrite and get routed through a single dispatch script, Director.php. Accessing Director.php directly also produces the "Bad Request" error. BUT- ALL of the other requests go through Director, and they all work just fine, (excluding the home page), so it can't be an issue with the Director.php script? OR can it? I'm not seeing anything in the Apache2 error log, and I'm not seeing any PHP errors in the PHP Error log. I've tried changing the first line of Director.php to read: echo 'test'; exit(); But I still get a "Bad Request".   • Symantec Backup exec 2012 for SBS - moving data to offsite drives

    Can anyone advise how best to run the following strategy, or even if it is possible/sensible strategy? I am looking to backup an SBS server using BE2012 where the data is backed up on a weekly full backup, with subsequent daily incrementals till the end of the week, a fresh full backup will then be taken the next weekend, and the cycle repeats for 4 weeks, thus 4 full backups with incrementals. This months worth of backups will then be moved off to an offsite store via USB drive for safe keeping. Is this viable, sensible, or am i just a bit crazy? All ideas are welcome.

    I've internet TV at home, it works via special modem which connects to router via Lan interface. I'd like to move Tv to a room which has no router. so i'd like to use wifi for internet TV. My plan is this, buy another wifi router, set it to repeat sygnal of primary router and attach this TV modem to repeater router via Lan interface. Will this work? I have limited understanding of how internet TV works, so I'm not sure if my strategy will work... does router have to have some special feature to allow this service? will my strategy work?
