  • Bulk Copy from one server to another

    Hi All, I've one situation where I need to copy part of the data from one server to another. The table schema are exactly same. I need to move partial data from the source, which may or may not be available in the destination table. The solution I'm thinking is, use bcp to export data to a text(or .dat) file and then take that file to the destination as both are not accessible at the same time (Different network), then import the data to the destination. There are some conditions I need to satisfy. 1. I need to export only a list of data from the table, not whole. My client is going to give me IDs which needs to be moved from source to destination. I've around 3000 records in the master table, and same in the child tables too. What I expect is, only 300 records to be moved. 2. If the record exists in the destination, the client is going to instruct as whether to ignore or overwrite case to case. 90% of the time, we need to ignore the records without overwriting, but log the records in a log file. Please help me with the best approach. I thought of using BCP with query option to filter the data, but while importing, how do I bypass inserting the existing records? If I need to overwrite, how to do it? Thanks a lot in advance. ~Joseph

    Hi, I have implemented a LINQ to SQL based RoleProvider, when I assign role to a user following exception is thrown while AddUsersToRoles method is called. I have defined a composite primary key userid & roleId on this table, it still throwing this exception: Can't perform Create, Update or Delete operations on 'Table(UsersInRole)' because it has no primary key.     Hi, I'm having some trouble getting pictures inside a tablelayout...actually, each I have 2 columns and when i put a picture in a cell of the table, it's completely streched and disproportionnated...I can't find how to make it stay it's original inside the cell and let the rest of the space filled by white background for instance....     I am dividing a semester's worth of lectures via the \lecture command. I'd like to have in the footline (among other things) the lecture number, date, and page number of the current lecture. I would also like to use the default style footline, with the black box on the left and the blue on the right. So I define a lecture with e.g. \lecture{January 28, 2010}{lecture01} with \title[Lecture \insertlecturenumber{}(\insertlecture)\quad{}Page \insertframenumber]{Course Title} in the preamble, I get an error; it will not accept \insertlecture there. If I remove \insertlecture, it does what I want, except that the page number is counted from the start of the semester, not the lecture. Is there any way to do this? Thank you. Liam

I know that there is some way to say \something{FOO} and the FOO reference appears here.     I want to have a TextBox which does accept the TAB key (and places a TAB, ASCII 0x09, \t accordingly into the textbox) instead of jumping to the next control. The TextBox has a property AcceptsTab, which I have set to true but this does not give the desired result. It turns out the AcceptsTab property only works then Multiline is set to true as well. However I want to have a one-line TextBox which doesn't accept newlines.

I am trying to make a simple migration script taking all records from one table and after a little process, saving them to another. However, on my laptop [running windows and wamp] I get double numbers of the original table records to have been copied to the destination table. In my colleagues' laptops, everything works fine! We are all using mysql 5.0.86 [plus windows plus wamp].     Hoping someone can shed some light on what I might be doing wrong here. Trying to add an "event" to a list of events, represented by a one to many (inverse) relationship: MyEvents <--- Event This is the code: MyEvents *myEvents = (MyEvents *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"MyEvents" inManagedObjectContext:context]; NSLog(@"MYEVENTS: %@", myEvents); NSLog(@"EVENT: %@", event); [myEvents addEventObject:event]; My context is fine, and both the myEvents and event print perfectly valid information. When I try to add the event that I have (which is passed into this view controller, having been retrieved from core data previously) with this code [myEvents addEventObject:event]; It falls over with *** -[NSComparisonPredicate evaluateWithObject:]: message sent to deallocated instance MyEvents and Event are just the default generated code. MyEvents contains only the relationship to event. Thanks.
