• Viewing array of pointers to structures in Visual Studio in the debugger

  I'm having a problem displaying the contents of a pointer array with its contents in the debugger. If I just add the pointer to the watch only the fist entry is visible. But if I add the length to it the debugger assumes that I have something like array[length][length]. Picture The first entry is the broken one, looks the same with ,2 or with any ,2 x. The second one is what I would like to see, but for more entries. Edit: The two entries displayed as [x][1] are invalid. I'm using VS 2005 but I think I had this problem on 2008 as well. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

  I have an array, say int a[]={2,0,1,0,1,1,0,2,1,1,1,0,1,0,1}; I need to append each of the 5 neighboring elements and assign them to a new array b with length=(a.length/5); and i want to append the 5 neighboring elements so that I have: int b[]={20101,10211,10101}; I need to do this for various length arrays, in most cases with length of a being greater than 15. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm programming in Java. Thanks in advance.

• FF extension: displaying an array of string elements in a sidebar

  I am developing a ff extension which displays a list of elements from an array (dynamic) in the sidebar. The array is dynamic and needs to be constructed in a function everytime the sidebar is opened (or any other event handler). Later, i will need to implement link functionality on parts of the string. What is the best way to go about this? I have created an empty sidebar and just know the label element as of now. menu, and menuitem dont work. What other elements can i use to display text in a good way which supports dynamic contruction. Is there some good tutorial/sample extension which i can see and learn?

  I have an array of objects. The objects have a property called level that is a string which contains a number and is in consistent format. I am trying to find the highest number and return just that one but I seem to be blocked as far as how to proceed from my current code.   I have an array I'm trying to asort using php. The problem is that the array has accented characters in it and needs to be sorted using "french" rules. cote < côte < coté < côté I've tried many things, like using php collators, but I get the following error : PHP Fatal error: Class 'Collator' not found I've also tried to set locale but it didn't do anything so I'm not sure I was doing it right, or if I need to isntall the locale. I'm a little confused. I'm using PHP 5.2.4 if that helps. If I use asort without anything, it puts all the words with accented characters at the end. Thanks.

  Hi all, I got an array in my app and I need to order by one of its key. Basically what the app does is taking latitude and longitude somewhere, calculate the distance from my actual position and create an array containing a key called "distance". I'm using myArray sortUsingDescriptors: [NSArray arrayWithObject:[[[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"distance" ascending:YES] autorelease]]]; I'm not sure it's working, I mean the first results are ordered but then it shows distance closer to the previous, as example: 0.8 km 1.6 km 1.9 km 10053.9 km 1098.0 km 2372.0 km 470.5 km Any suggestion?   Ran accross the following code in an article and didn't think it was standard C/C++ syntax for the char* array. As a test, both Visual C++ (visual studio 2005) and C++ Builder Rad XE both reject the 2nd line. Without using #defines, anyone have any tricks/tips for keeping enums and a string array sort of in sync without resorting to STL ? More of a curiosity question. enum TCOLOR { RED, GREEN, BLUE }; char *TNCOLOR[] = { [RED]="Red", [GREEN]="Green", [BLUE]="Blue" }; as an aside, the article this came from is quite old and I believe this might work under GCC but have not tested.

  I'm quite new to Powershell and working on a little project with functions. What I'm trying to do is creating a function that takes 2 arguments. The first argument ($Item1) decides the size of the array, the second argument ($Item2) decides the value of the indexes. So if I write: $addToArray 10 5 I need the function to create a array with 10 indexes and the value 5 in each of them. The second argument would also have to take "text" as a value. • Check if there are any repeated elements in an array recursively

  I have to find recursively if there is any repeated element in an integer array v. The method must have the following signature: boolean hasRepeatedElements(int[] v) I can't see any way of doing that recursively without having to define another method or at least another overload to this method (one that takes for example the element to go after or something). At first I thought about checking for the current v if there is some element equal to the first element, then creating a new array with L-1 elements etc but that seems rather inefficient. Is it the only way? Am I missing here something?

  All the examples of json I can find online only show how to submit json arrays w/ the jquery command $.ajax(). I'm submitting some data from a custom user control as a json array. I was wondering if it's possible to submit a json array as a regular post request to the server (like a normal form) so the browser renders the page returned. Controller: [JsonFilter(Param = "record", JsonDataType = typeof(TitleViewModel))] public ActionResult SaveTitle(TitleViewModel record) { // save the title. return RedirectToAction("Index", new { titleId = tid }); } Javascript: function SaveTitle() { var titledata = GetData(); $.ajax({ url: "/Listing/SaveTitle", type: "POST", data: titledata, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", }); } Which is called from a save button. Everything works fine but the browser stays on the page after submitting. I was thinking of returning some kind of custom xml from the server and do javascript redirect but it seems like a very hacky way of doing things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• C++: concatenate ints in an array?

  As part of a homework assignment I need to concatenate certain values in an array in C++. So, for example if I have: int v[] = {0,1,2,3,4} I may need at some point to concatenate v[1] - v[4] so that I get an int with the value 1234. I got it working using stringstream, by appending the values onto the stringstream and then converting back to an integer. However, throughout the program there will eventually be about 3 million different permutations of v[] passed to my toInt() function, and the stringstream seems rather expensive (at least when dealing with that many values). it's working, but very slow and I'm trying to do whatever I can to optimize it. Is there a more optimal way to concatenate ints in an array in C++? I've done some searching and nearly everywhere seems to just suggest using stringstream (which works, but seems to be slowing my program down a lot). EDIT: Just clarifying, I do need the result to be an int.
