  • Exel Question: I need a date and time formula to convert between time zones

    Hello, I am trying to find a way to calculate a duration in days between my, time zone (Central), and (Pacific; Mountain; Eastern). Just do not know where to start. My criteria would be as follows: Cell C5:C100 would be the timestamps in this format:3/18/2010 23:45 but for different dates and times. Cell D5:D100 would be the corresponding timezone in text form: Pacific; Mountain; Eastern; Central. Cell F5 would be where the duration in days would need to be. Just not sure how to write the formula to give me what I am looking for. I appreciate any assistance in advance. Thanks

  • SQL Design Question regarding schema and if Name value pair is the best solution

    I am having a small problem trying to decide on database schema for a current project. I am by no means a DBA. The application parses through a file based on user input and enters that data in the database. The number of fields that can be parsed is between 1 and 42 at the current moment. The current design of the database is entirely flat with there being 42 columns; some have repeated columns such as address1, address2, address3, etc... This says that I should normalize the data. However, data integrity is not needed at this moment and the way the data is shaped I'm looking at several joins. Not a bad thing but the data is still in a 1 to 1 relationship and I still see a lot of empty fields per row. So my concerns are that this does not allow the database or the application to be very extendable. If they want to add more fields to be parsed (which they do) than I'd need to create another table and add another foreign key to the linking table. The third option is I have a table where the fields are defined and a table for each record. So what I was thinking is to make a table that stores the value and then links to those two tables. The problem is I can picture the size of that table growing large depending on the input size. If someone gives me a file with 300,000 records than 300,000 x 40 = 12 million so I have some reservations. However I think if I get to that point than I should be happy it is being used. This option also allows for more custom displaying of information albeit a bit more work but little rework even if you add more fields. So the problem boils down to: 1. Current design is a flat file which makes extending it hard and it is not normalized. 2. Normalize the tables although no real benefits for the moment but requirements change. 3. Normalize it down into the name value pair and hope size doesn't hurt. There are a large number of inserts, updates, and selects against that table. So performance is a worry but I believe the saying is design now, performance testing later? I'm probably just missing something practical so any comments would be appreciated even if it’s a quick sanity check. Thank you for your time.

    i have hosting accout in go daddy its a delux plan so i can assign more than one url right now i got two of them they both registerd throgh go daddy in the same account. right now i would like to give some storage space to a freind that have a url ( also go ddady) in a different account . and i do not know how to do it . i think he needs to set up his name servers as my name servers so he did and than i should add his url in the domain maneger i did that also and even installed joomla on this particular folder that i assinged to his url nothing happenend . am i missing somthing ? plz help if you can :)

In standard C++ fashion the error output is verbose and difficult to understand. The key part seems to be this... /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_algobase.h:313: error: no match for ‘operator=’ in ‘__result.std::insert_iterator::operator* [with _Container = std::set, std::allocator ]() = __first.std::_List_iterator::operator* [with _Tp = std::basic_string, std::allocator ]()’ ...which I interpet to mean that the assignment operator needed is not defined. I took a look at the source code for insert_iterator and noted that it has overloaded the assignment operator. The copy algorithm must uses the insert iterators overloaded assignment operator to do its work(?). I guess that because my input iterator is on a container of strings and my output iterator is on a container of MyContainers that the overloaded insert_iterator assignment operator can no longer work. This is my best guess, but I am probably wrong. So, why exactly does this not work and how can I accomplish what I am trying to do?

'.$param; ob_start(); passthru($command, $result); $content_grabbed=ob_get_contents(); ob_end_clean(); $info = pathinfo($_FILES['file']['name']); $file_name= basename($_FILES['file']['name'],'.'.$info['extension']); $myFile = "images/convert/".$file_name."_".$_POST["mydropdown"].".svg"; $fh = fopen($myFile, 'w') or die("can't open file"); fwrite($fh, $content_grabbed); fclose($fh); It does a very simple SVG to SVG transformation, and created the resulting SVG file. the $command is just a simple java -jar saxon.jar input.xml stylesheet java command. The current situation is ,the file gets created perfectly, however, the error gets shown in browser, probably because I inserted the "ob_start" before passthru() command. I am thinking of making use of an argument that comes with the saxon.jar, that is "-o output_file_name". Because the final purpose is not to display the resulting SVG to the browser, but instead creating an SVG file ,and provide the link to the user for downloading. Are there any better ways to handle this problem, I am still thinking about how to get rid of the result that gets shown in the browser that is sent by the "passthru()". Thanks in advance for suggestions!

    I am using Symfony 1.3.2 and I have a page that uses a partial from another module. I have two modules: 'foo' and 'foobar'. In module 'foo', I have an 'index' action, which uses a partial from the 'foobar' module. so foo/indexSuccess.php looks something like this: Some data here ? I want to cache 'part2' of my foo/indexSuccess.php page, because it is very expensive (slow). I want the cache to have a lifetime of about 10 minutes. In apps/frontend/modules/foo/config/cache.yml I need to know how to cache 'part2' of the page (i.e. the [very expensive] partial part of the page. can anyone tell me what entries are required in the cache.yml file?

    Hi, I have a program that has a SIZE of 800x600. I want to make this program expand if it is maximized, so that all the elements(buttons, picturebox's) change size to fit the new ratio depending on the users windows screen resolution. The way I am thinking to approach this is to take the users screen resolution and manual change the size of everything, and do this for all common resolutions, if a user has some rare resolution, ill just make it so the maximize/minimize buttons are disabled. But this will be very very time consuming as there are lots of elements in the forms, and their are multiple forms..... Basically, is there a shortcut? Perhaps a built in feature or some kind of add in for VS2008. What are some methods to tackle this issue?

Let say I get products : 12345 but now instead of that I want it to be as products : ;12345, than how can this be achieved in javascript.     I am building music app, where user can do several tasks including but not limited to listening song, like song, recommend song to a friend and extra. currently I have this model: class Activity(models.Model): activity = models.TextField() user = models.ForeignKey(User) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) so far I thought about two solutions. 1. saving a string to database. e.g "you listened song xyz" 2. create a dictionary about the activity and save to the database using pickle or json. e.g. dict_ = {"activity_type":"listening", "song":song_obj} I am leaning to the second implementation, but not quite sure. so what do you think about those two methods? do you know better way to achieve the goal?

I do have a Rows constructor taking IEnumerable<Row>, so I could do: Rows rows = new Rows { row1, row2, row3 }; Rows particularRows = new Rows(rows.Where<Row>(row => condition)); This seems bulky, however, and I would love to be able to cast an IEnumerable<Row> to be a Rows since Rows implements IEnumerable<Row>. Any ideas?
