Using the Microsoft Ajax Minifier with Web Setup project & Source Control

I've just started investigating the Microsoft Ajax Minifer 4.0 for use with a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application I work on. It's proven easy enough to hook it into the .csproj file so it produced .min.js files for all scripts, however I'm stumped as to how to integrate this with the Web Setup project & Source Control. Essentially what I want to do is have the resultant .min.js files included in the Web Setup project without having them included in Source Control because: Having to check them out prior to the build being executing is a pain (the minifier cannot modify them if they're not checked out). As they're created as a "build artifact" it just seems wrong to have them stored under source control. The only option I've managed to come across so far is to explicitly include the .min.js files as part of the Setup project by right clicking on the Web Setup project and choosing "Add File", and then having the relevant folder hierarchy duplicated in "File System on Target Machine" so that I can force the file to the correct location. This is neither elegant or simple/robust as: It requires me to manually add every minified js file to the Web Setup project by hand Maintain a copy of the relevant directory structure in both the Web Application project and the Web Setup project Remember to add any new js files minified versions to the Web Setup project Is there a better way of doing this?

Integrating legacy Ajax script in CakePHP

Hi, I have a legacy script that I would like to integrate in a cakephp app. The script makes use of $_POST and such and since I'm quite a noob I would need some help for the integration. Currently I have "Undefined index: cmd [APP/vendors/remote.php, line 230]" errors since I use $_POST['cmd'] (I placed remote.php in Vendors and included it, the JS was just included old fashion way, as a link and appears in the source code). How to handle Lightbox with Capybara , Selenium and Cucumber framework?

Im trying to run test suite that will handle the jquery light-box. Light box contains a text-area and a submit button. Before Light box appears both of these fields are hidden. But selenium framework not understanding the visibility of these element in Light box. It just shows following error. AJAX Beginner: If then statement

In menu.html, I have my menu items(a href links), let's call them, menu_1, menu_2, .... In map.js displays the contents of a map, it calls an API to display some layers and maps. I have a lot of maps to show but i only want to call the api once. Using AJAX, I was wondering if it's possible to have an if/then or select/case in my js, so that if menu_1 is clicked, then implement map_1 etc. without having the page to reload. The only way I thought I could do this is using Post/get .. so when you click on menu_1 it takes you to page.php?page_id=1 . JS will read that and display the map. I'm new to JS and AJAX so please feel free to butcher me

Wondering about a way to conserve memory in C# using List<> with structs

I'm not even sure how I should phrase this question. I'm passing some CustomStruct objects as parameters to a class method, and storing them in a List. What I'm wondering is if it's possible and more efficient to add multiple references to a particular instance of a CustomStruct if a equivalent instance it found. This is a dummy/example struct: public struct CustomStruct { readonly int _x; readonly int _y; readonly int _w; readonly int _h; readonly Enum _e; } Using the below method, you can pass one, two, or three CustomStruct objects as parameters. In the final method (that takes three parameters), it may be the case that the 3rd and possibly the 2nd will have the same value as the first. List<CustomStruct> _list; public void AddBackground(CustomStruct normal) { AddBackground(normal, normal, normal); } public void AddBackground(CustomStruct normal, CustomStruct hover) { AddBackground(normal, hover, hover); } public void AddBackground(CustomStruct normal, CustomStruct hover, CustomStruct active) { _list = new List<CustomStruct>(3); _list.Add(normal); _list.Add(hover); _list.Add(active); } As the method stands now, I believe it will create new instances of CustomStruct objects, and then adds a reference of each to the List. It is my understanding that if I instead check for equality between normal and hover and (if equal) insert normal again in place of hover, when the method completes, hover will lose all references and eventually be garbage collected, whereas normal will have two references in the List. The same could be done for active. That would be better, right? The CustomStruct is a ValueType, and therefore one instance would remain on the Stack, and the three List references would just point to it. The overall List size is determined not by the object Type is contains, but by its Capacity. By eliminating the "duplicate" CustomStuct objects, you allow them to be cleaned up. When the CustomStruct objects are passed to these methods, new instances are created each time. When the structs are added to the List, is another copy made? For example, if i pass just one CustomStruct, AddBackground(normal) creates a copy of the original variable, and then passes it three times to Addbackground(normal, hover, active). In this method, three copies are made of the original copy. When the three local variables are added to the List using Add(), are additional copies created inside Add(), and does that defeat the purpose of any equality checks as previously mentioned? Am I missing anything here?

This works great when viewing the page for the first time (or force reloading all content). However, when the image has already been cached, it doesn't use the preloading script and thus does not send the play trigger to jplayer. How can I make it send a play trigger even when the image is cached? Thank you in advance, Dennis

WordPress Problem with enqueing a script

I am trying to enqueue a script from the functions.php file for a custom theme. here is the code I am using: wp_enqueue_script('innerfade','correct/path/to/innerfade.js', array('jquery'), '', false); I also tried to hardcode from the the functions file like so: ?> <script type='text/javascript' src="correct/path/to/innerfade.js"></script> <?php and both are outputting the following: correct/path/to/innerfade.js'?ver=2.9.2 so It doesnt seem to be a wp_enqueue_script problem What I cannot seem to figure is where the hell is the comma after the .js is coming from, it is causing a dead link hence not loading the script, anyone have any ideas??

migrating from Prototype to jQuery in Rails, having trouble with duplicate get request

I'm in the process of migrating from Prototype to jQuery and moving all JS outside of the view files. All is going fairly well with one exception. Here's what I'm trying to do, and the problem I'm having. I have a diary where users can update records in-line in the page like so: user clicks 'edit' link to edit an entry in the diary a get request is performed via jQuery and an edit form is displayed allowing the user to modify the record user updates the record, the form disappears and the updated record is shown in place of the form All of that works so far. The problem arises when: user updates a record user clicks 'edit' to update another record in this case, the edit form is shown twice! In firebug I get a status code 200 when the form shows, and then moments later, another edit form shows again with a status code of 304 I only want the form to show once, not twice. The form shows twice only after I update a record, otherwise everything works fine. Here's the code, any ideas? I think this might have to do with the fact that in food_item_update.js I call the editDiaryEntry() after a record is updated, but if I don't call that function and try and update the record after it's been modified, then it just spits up the .js.erb response on the screen. That's also why I have the editDiaryEntry() in the add_food.js.erb file. ArithmeticException thrown during BigDecimal.divide

I thought java.math.BigDecimal is supposed to be The Answer™ to the need of performing infinite precision arithmetic with decimal numbers. Consider the following snippet: import java.math.BigDecimal; //... final BigDecimal one = BigDecimal.ONE; final BigDecimal three = BigDecimal.valueOf(3); final BigDecimal third = one.divide(three); assert third.multiply(three).equals(one); // this should pass, right? I expect the assert to pass, but in fact the execution doesn't even get there: one.divide(three) causes ArithmeticException to be thrown! Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArithmeticException: Non-terminating decimal expansion; no exact representable decimal result. at java.math.BigDecimal.divide It turns out that this behavior is explicitly documented in the API: In the case of divide, the exact quotient could have an infinitely long decimal expansion; for example, 1 divided by 3. If the quotient has a non-terminating decimal expansion and the operation is specified to return an exact result, an ArithmeticException is thrown. Otherwise, the exact result of the division is returned, as done for other operations. Browsing around the API further, one finds that in fact there are various overloads of divide that performs inexact division, i.e.: final BigDecimal third = one.divide(three, 33, RoundingMode.DOWN); System.out.println(three.multiply(third)); // prints "0.999999999999999999999999999999999" Of course, the obvious question now is "What's the point???". I thought BigDecimal is the solution when we need exact arithmetic, e.g. for financial calculations. If we can't even divide exactly, then how useful can this be? Does it actually serve a general purpose, or is it only useful in a very niche application where you fortunately just don't need to divide at all? If this is not the right answer, what CAN we use for exact division in financial calculation? (I mean, I don't have a finance major, but they still use division, right???).

Lighttpd rewriting files and directories

I'm trying to do url rewriting with Lighttpd. I have what I need partially working. Right now I have this: http://domain.com/name/a/123 which rewrites to http://domain.com/name/a.php?pid=123 I do this with this rewrite-once rule: "^/name/a/([^/]+)"= "/name/a.php?pid=$1" That php page has external resources that are not getting rewritten such as the JavaScript and CSS files. Is there a way I can also have the rewrite do the following? http://domain.com/name/a/js/file.js = http://domain.com/name/js/file.js

Redeclared javascript global variable overrides old value in IE

(creating a separate question after comments on this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2634410/javascript-redeclared-global-variable-overrides-old-value) I am creating a globally scoped variable using the square bracket notation and assigning it a value inside an external js file. In another js file I declare a var with the same name as the one I just created above. Note I am not assigning a value. jquery tabs dissapear when re-clicked

<optgroup> Not working in jQuery Dropdown

problem with image gallery using fancybox jquery

I am trying to use fancybox for one of my image galery and my code is the following.. this is the code for my Gallery.aspx where it inherits from a master page... javascript open window references

Hi, I'm having some issues understanding how to reference new browser windows after opening them. As an example, if I created 3 new windows from a main one (index.html): var one = window.open( 'one.html', 'one',"top=10,left=10,width=100,height=100,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no"); var two = window.open( 'two.html', 'two',"top=100,left=10,width=100,height=100,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no"); var three = window.open( 'three.html', 'three',"top=200,left=10,width=100,height=100,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,toolbar=no,resizable=no"); two.focus(); How could I programmatically focus on (or just refer to) browser "three" if browser "two" is currently in focus?

Hi I am new for Magento and don't much knowledge of programing what i want to do is i heve three categories on my site and created three static blocks for it and set it up on middle of each category page with their related block all working fine but now i want to move it in Right Sidebar in My site so pls. suggest how and where do i change to display my Static block in Right sidebar Example : I have three Categories and three static block for each category : Womens,Mens,Kids - Static Bloks : womens_block,mens_block,kids_block now pls. suggest how can i move it to Right side of my page Above Shopping cart. jQuery AJAX with two domains

OK here is the situation: I have an externally hosted CMS which works great for 99% of our needs. However on the more advanced things I inject my own CSS+JS and do magic. The problem I am running into is loading a simple HTML page from jQuery.ajax() calls. It appears to work in the sense that no warnings or errors are thrown; however in my success handler (which IS ran), the response is blank! I have been scratching my head for the whole morning trying to figure this out and the only thing I can think of is that is has something to do with the cross domain issue (even though it appears to work). Injected JavaScript: $(document).ready(function() { doui(); }); function doui() { $.ajax({ url: 'http://apps.natronacounty-wy.gov/css/feecalc/ui.htm', cache: false, success: ajax_createUI, charset: "utf-8", error: function(e) { alert(e); } }); } function ajax_createUI(data, textStatus) { alert(data); $("#ajax-content").html(data); } My ajax_createUI() success handler is called and textStatus is "success"; however data is empty. This JS file resides @ http://apps.natronacounty-wy.gov/css/js/feecalc.js however the CMS website (which gets the JS injected into it) resides @ http://www.natronacounty-wy.gov/ Am I just being stupid or is it a bug that it looks like it should be working but isn't?

RegisterClientScriptInclude doesn't work for some reason...

Hey, I've spent at least 2 days trying anything and googling this...but for some reason I can't get RegisterClientScriptInclude to work the way everyone else has it working? First off, I am usting .NET 3.5 Ajax,...and I am including javascript in my partial page refreshes...using this code: ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this, typeof(Page), "MyClientCode", script, true); It works perfectly, my javascript code contained in the script variable is included every partial refresh. The javascript in script is actually quite extensive though, and I would like to store it in a .js file,..so logically I make a .js file and try to include it using RegisterClientScriptInclude ...however i can't for the life of my get this to work. here's the exact code: ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptInclude(this, typeof(Page), "mytestscript", "/js/testscript.js"); the testscript.js file is only included in FULL page refreshes...ie. when I load the page, or do a full postback....i can't get the file to be included in partial refreshes...have no idea why..when viewing the ajax POST in firebug I don't see a difference whether I include the file or not.... both of the ScriptManager Includes are being ran from the exact same place in "Page_Load"...so they should execute every partial refresh (but only the ScriptBlock does). anyways,..any help or ideas,..or further ways I can trouble shoot this problem, would be appreciated. Why Is my json-object from AJAX not understood by javascript, even with 'json' dataType?
