• How do I create email addresses for all my users using my domain ([email protected])?

  My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

  I am trying to make specific radiobutton checked on page load and tried a lot of ways, but no one worked for me. This is a part of orderform on my webstore. <input type="radio" name="sPaymentCarrier" id="pC_2-1" value="1;2;0.00" onclick="countCarrierPrice( this )" /> <label for="pC_2-1">0</label> Actually this radiobutton is the only on radiobutton on page, and it must be checked to let user make order. I tried $(function() { var $radios = $('input:radio[name=sPaymentCarrier]'); if($radios.is(':checked') === false) { $radios.filter('[value=1;2;0.00]').attr('checked', true); } }); and $('input:radio[name="sPaymentCarrier"]').filter('[value="1;2;0.00"]').attr('checked', true); but none of these ways worked. Also I tried a lot of other codes, but when I refreshed page I still saw this button unchecked. I guess maybe I have to set up jquery click on this button instead of select, but actually I cannot make this work. Any help is appreciated!

• Possible to convert list of #defines into strings (C++)

  Suppose I have a list of #defines in a header file for an external library. These #defines represent error codes returned from functions. I want to write a conversion function that can take as an input an error code and return as an output a string literal representing the actual #define name. As an example, if I have #define NO_ERROR 0 #define ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR 1 #define ANOTHER_KIND_OF_ERROR 2 I would like a function to be able to called like int errorCode = doSomeLibraryFunction(); if (errorCode) writeToLog(convertToString(errorCode)); And have convertToString() be able to auto-convert that error code without being a giant switch-case looking like const char* convertToString(int errorCode) { switch (errorCode) { case NO_ERROR: return "NO_ERROR"; case ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR: return "ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR"; ... ... ... I have a feeling that if this is possible, it would be possible using templates and metaprogramming, but that would only work the error codes were actually a type and not a bunch of processor macros.   I get the following error with VS2008: Conversion to enumeration type requires an explicit cast (static_cast, C-style cast or function-style cast) When casting a down casting a ClassA to ClassA_1 and ClassA_1 is a templated class that received an enum for parameter such as: ClassA { virtual ~ClassA(){}; } template <class Param1> ClassA_1 : public ClassA { public: //constructor ClassA_1(Param1 p1) { _p1 = p1; } Param1 _p1; } So I have a upcasted ClassA a = new ClassA_1<myenum>(); When I need to do this: ClassA_1<myenum> a1 = (ClassA_1<myenum> a); // This fails ... The only way it works is: ClassA_1<int> a1 = (ClassA_1<int> a); but this break my template as it must always deal with int... How to properly cast a enum that is now a int, back into the enum?

  Why wouldn't DoesntWork() work below? The error is: Cannot implicitly convert type 'List' to 'IEnumerable'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?). I know this is something about generic/templates I'm not getting, but List is IEnumerable and Implementer is an IInterface. • Rails 3 namespacing requires model to be defined twice?

  I'm pulling my hair out trying to understand namespacing in Rails 3. I've tried following a few different tutorials, and the only way I can get my models to work is if I define my model in both the base directory and my namespace directory. If I only define the model in the namespace directory it expects it to define both Model and Namespace::Model, as below: LoadError (Expected .../app/models/plugins/chat.rb to define Chat): or LoadError (Expected .../app/models/plugins/chat.rb to define Plugins::Chat): I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I could really use a pointer in the right direction.   I am about to have some fun with the css transform matrix and javascript. At the moment everything is cool, except when a number becomes something like 0.000034e3344 after the to string conversion. Than the transform does not work. So I know that there is the Number.toFixed() method which actually solves the problem, but i ask myself how many trailing decimals make sense. So what is the highest value i can pass to the toFixed() method to get the most precise results? EDIT::: the exact number output was: 9.685539407532573e-20

  I got a script component which does Transformation / DataType conversions / Creating some calculated columns. All the transform validations / datatype conversion methods and for new column generation is put into custom .dll. As this script component would be same for all other tables, only thing is to define input / ouput columns and apply validation methods on required columns. This all works fine. On production server where do I need to deploy my .dll. Would just putting it into GAC will be enough or need to do something else. Regards

• Efficient way to access a mapping of identifiers in Python

  I am writing an app to do a file conversion and part of that is replacing old account numbers with a new account numbers. Right now I have a CSV file mapping the old and new account numbers with around 30K records. I read this in and store it as dict and when writing the new file grab the new account from the dict by key. My question is what is the best way to do this if the CSV file increases to 100K+ records? Would it be more efficient to convert the account mappings from a CSV to a sqlite database rather than storing them as a dict in memory?

• Why SQL functions are faster than UDF

  Though it's a quite subjective question but I feel it necessary to share on this forum. I have personally experienced that when I create a UDF (even if that is not complex) and use it into my SQL it drastically decrease the performance. But when I use SQL inbuild function they happen to work pretty faster. Conversion , logical & string functions are clear example of that. So, my question is "Why SQL in build functions are faster than UDF"? and it would be an advantage if someone can guide me how can I judge/manipulate function cost either mathematically or logically.
