  • How to hide/show a Process using c#?

    - by aF
    Hello, While executing my program, I want to hide/minimize Microsoft Speech Recognition Application: and at the end I want to show/maximize using c#! This process is not started by me so I can't give control the process startInfo. I've tried to use user32.dll methods such as: ShowWindow AnimatedWindows AnimatedWindows With all of them I have the same problem. I can hide the windows (althought I have to call one of the methods two times with SW_HIDE option), but when I call the method with a SW_SHOW flag, it simply doesn't shows.. How can I maximize/show after hiding the process? Thanks in advance! Here is some pieces of the code, now implemented to use SetWindowPlacement: { [DllImport("user32.dll")] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] public static extern bool GetWindowPlacement(IntPtr hWnd, ref WINDOWPLACEMENT lpwndpl); [DllImport("user32.dll", SetLastError = true)] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] static extern bool SetWindowPlacement(IntPtr hWnd, [In] ref WINDOWPLACEMENT lpwndpl); [DllImport("user32.dll")] public static extern Boolean ShowWindowAsync(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 nCmdShow); [DllImport("user32.dll")] public static extern Boolean SetForegroundWindow(IntPtr hWnd); [DllImport("user32.dll")] public static extern Boolean ShowWindow(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 nCmdShow); [DllImport("user32.dll")] public static extern Boolean AnimateWindow(IntPtr hWnd, uint dwTime, uint dwFlags); [DllImport("dwmapi.dll")] public static extern int DwmSetWindowAttribute(IntPtr hwnd, uint dwAttribute, IntPtr pvAttribute, IntPtr lol); //Definitions For Different Window Placement Constants const UInt32 SW_HIDE = 0; const UInt32 SW_SHOWNORMAL = 1; const UInt32 SW_NORMAL = 1; const UInt32 SW_SHOWMINIMIZED = 2; const UInt32 SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED = 3; const UInt32 SW_MAXIMIZE = 3; const UInt32 SW_SHOWNOACTIVATE = 4; const UInt32 SW_SHOW = 5; const UInt32 SW_MINIMIZE = 6; const UInt32 SW_SHOWMINNOACTIVE = 7; const UInt32 SW_SHOWNA = 8; const UInt32 SW_RESTORE = 9; public sealed class AnimateWindowFlags { public const int AW_HOR_POSITIVE = 0x00000001; public const int AW_HOR_NEGATIVE = 0x00000002; public const int AW_VER_POSITIVE = 0x00000004; public const int AW_VER_NEGATIVE = 0x00000008; public const int AW_CENTER = 0x00000010; public const int AW_HIDE = 0x00010000; public const int AW_ACTIVATE = 0x00020000; public const int AW_SLIDE = 0x00040000; public const int AW_BLEND = 0x00080000; } public struct WINDOWPLACEMENT { public int length; public int flags; public int showCmd; public System.Drawing.Point ptMinPosition; public System.Drawing.Point ptMaxPosition; public System.Drawing.Rectangle rcNormalPosition; } //this works param = new WINDOWPLACEMENT(); param.length = Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(WINDOWPLACEMENT)); param.showCmd = (int)SW_HIDE; lol = SetWindowPlacement(theprocess.MainWindowHandle, ref param); // this doesn't work WINDOWPLACEMENT param = new WINDOWPLACEMENT(); param.length = Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(WINDOWPLACEMENT)); param.showCmd = SW_SHOW; lol = GetWindowPlacement(theprocess.MainWindowHandle, ref param);

  • Need to hide displayed div when I show others

    - by adrian collins
    I am stuck. I have a page with 3 buttons, the 3 buttons do a couple things - they change the style of a div, and they also show/hide a content div. The changing of the div style works fine, but I am having issues with the content div. If you land on the page and click the "Our Brands" tab, then click the other 2 tabs, it works fine. If you land on the page, and click "What's New" or "About Us" first, then the show/hide does not work correctly - it does not until you actually click on "Our Brands." http://www.adriancollins.net/clients/kennys/ Any help would be appreciated, I am a designer first, a developer about 9000th. Show/Hide Code <script type="text/javascript"> var _hidediv = null; function showdiv(id) { if(_hidediv) _hidediv(); var div = document.getElementById(id); div.style.display = 'block'; _hidediv = function () { div.style.display = 'none'; }; } </script> Tab Divs <div id="brand_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('brands_content'); lower.className='blue';angle.className='blue_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/brands_button.png"></a></div> <div id="whatsnew_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('new_content');lower.className='black';angle.className='black_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/whatsnew_button.png"></a></div> <div id="about_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('about_content');lower.className='green';angle.className='green_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/about_button.png"></a></div> Content Divs <div id="brands_content">Content...</div> <div id="whats_content">Content...</div> <div id="about_content">Content...</div> CSS #brands_content { position: relative; display: block; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 12; } #new_content { position: relative; display: none; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 999; color: #fff; } #about_content { position: relative; display: none; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 999; } Thanks

  • jQuery: move window viewport to show freshly toggled element

    - by k00k
    I have a simple bit of jQuery in doc ready which toggles a div containing a textarea: $('div#addnote-area').hide(); // hide the div $('a#addnote-link').click(function() { // click event listener on link $('div#addnote-area').toggle(); // toggle the hidden div }); The toggle works fine when clicking the link. The problem I'm having is that if div#addnote-area is below the browser's current viewport, it remains there when it's shown. I'd like the user's cursor to go to the textarea and for the whole textarea to be viewable in the window. Click here to see an image for more context

  • Pure CSS3 show/hide full height div with transition

    - by user1898838
    Dear Stackoverflow readers, I've been breaking my head over something I've seen at Tympanus, and I can't figure out how to properly do such a thing. In this link: http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/FullscreenBookBlock/ you can see that the menu is completely hidden, and only visible when you click on an icon. It has a lovely transition, and it basically roughly sums up what I'm trying to accomplish. The only difference with the above example is that I don't want to completely hide this full-height element, and I'd like to accomplish the above effect with a hover instead of having to click a button. So in an ideal world you'd see a vertical bar, and when you hover over that bar (or click on it with your finger if you're on a tablet), it "opens up" and shows you the full content inside the opened div. Now, I can make a decent bit in html5 and css3, but the above explained effect that I'm trying to accomplish has given me serious headaches, hehe. Does anyone happen to know a tutorial I might have missed that does this exact thing? p.s.: I have tried to take apart Tympanus' html/css, but with the page-fold effect that's also implemented in it I can't seem to figure it out, hence my hope for someone here to help me on my way :)

  • NRF Week - Disney Store Tour

    - by sarah.taylor(at)oracle.com
    Disney has created a real buzz at this year's NRF event. Yesterday morning we began the Oracle Retail Exchange program with a visit to the flagship Disney store in Times Square. Additionally Oracle made a key announcement with Disney  on Oracle Retail's Point of Sale implementation in 330 stores worldwide. Today   Disney's Steve Finney gave a super session on The Magic of Disney at the NRF Big Show. We also saw Disney making an exclusive news announcement about their plans for Global store openings at the Oracle trade show stand - with a little help from Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Disney Stores have been entirely reinvented since the company in 2008 took ownership after previously franchising the retail arm of the business. They have subsequently been a strong Oracle partner and technology has played a key role in their re imagination of the store environment. The new Imagination stores have a 20% higher footfall and margins are up 25%. The Disney brand is synonymous with magical and memorable experiences for children of all ages. The company is achieving a unique retail experience that delights children and shareholders alike! Technology is a key pillar in helping to deliver on both a strong operating model and a unique customer experience - the best thirty minutes in a child's day is their aim. Steve Finney this morning said their technology has to be as reliable as a theme park ride. Store experiences are much more enjoyable when there are short waiting times and children can interact with their favourite characters through magic mirrors, mobile point of sale, touch screens and custom animations that are digitally transmitted to stores globally. The Oracle Retail Point of Sale with iPad touch screens reduces check out times, stores customer data, ensures that promotions are delivered accurately and reduces losses. This means higher levels of guest conversion, increased availability and convenience for customers who want to check availability at other locations. Disney is a pioneer. At NRF's 100th show, we had the privilege of learning from a retailer using technology as a creative force to drive their business forward.

  • hide part of the content of an element

    - by user1843471
    Sorry, this may be kind of weird problem: I have an existing HTML code, which I can not directly edit or delete parts of it. The problem is: Inside a div-element in this code, there is some text which I want to hide. There are also another element inside of this div, which I don't want to hide. It looks something like this: <div> ....Text I want to hide.... <table> ... Text I don't want to hide...</table> </div> My question: Is it possible to hide the "....Text I want to hide...." while not hiding the "... Text I don't want to hide..."? (for example using javascript?)

  • Show Notes: Getting Past the Cloud Hype

    - by Bob Rhubart
    This week’s ArchBeat podcast features an unvarnished bit of conversation culled from a recent virtual meet-up. These meet-ups are informal conversations among architects, many of who have participated in previous ArchBeat programs. There’s no prearranged topic, so the participants talk about whatever is on their minds. The most recent meet-up included Oracle ACE Director Ran Batra, director of cloud computing product development with AT&T, and Daniel Templeton, principal product manager for Oracle Grid Engine, and the man behind Dan T’s GridBlog. The conversation took place at the end of the year – and the end of the decade – a time when most tech publications feature their predictions for the coming year.  I wanted a different spin on that theme, so I asked Ron and Dan to talk about the technologies about which they weren’t all that optimistic.   I found that ten-minute chunk of conversation particularly interesting, so that’s what you’re going to hear this week. Listen The voices you’ll hear in these highlights belong to (listed in order of appearance): Ralf Dossmann: Director of SOA and Middleware in Oracle’s Enterprise Solutions Group LinkedIn | Oracle Mix Floyd Teter: Innowave Technology, Oracle ACE Director Blog | Twitter | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix | Oracle ACE Profile Basheer Khan: Innowave Technology, Oracle ACE Director Blog | Twitter | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix | Oracle ACE Profile Jeff Savit:  Oracle virtualization expert, former Sun Microsystems principal engineer Blog | LinkedIn | Oracle Mix Geri Born: Oracle security analyst LinkedIn | A 10-minute podcast can't really do justice to the hour-long panel discussion at each Architect Day event, let alone the discussion that is characteristic of each session throughout each Architect Day. But at least you’ll get a taste of what you’ll find at the live events. You’ll find slide decks and more from this first series of 2010 events in the Architect Day Artifacts post on this blog. More dates/cities will be added soon to the Architect Day schedule.  Coming Soon Next week’s ArchBeat program kicks off a three-part series featuring Cameron Purdy,  Oracle ACE Director Aleksander Seovic, and Oracle ACE John Stouffer in a conversation about data grid technology and Oracle Coherence. • Podcast Show Notes: The Big Deal About Big Data

    - by Bob Rhubart
    This week the OTN ArchBeat kicks off a three-part series that looks at Big Data: what it is, its affect on enterprise IT, and what architects need to do to stay ahead of the big data curve. My guests for this conversation are Jean-Pierre Dijks and Andrew Bond . Jean-Pierre, based at Oracle HQ in Redwood Shores, CA, is product manager for Oracle Big Data Appliance and Oracle's big data strategy. Andrew Bond  is Head of Transformation Architecture for Oracle, where he specialzes in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Big Data. Andrew is based in the UK, but for this conversation he dialed in from a car somewhere on the streets of Amsterdam. Listen to Part 1What is Big Data, really, and why does it matter? Listen to Part 2 (Oct 10)What new challenges does Big Data present for Architects? What do architects need to do to prepare themselves and their environments? Listen to Part 3 (Oct 17)Who is driving the adoption of Big Data strategies in organizations, and why? • Podcast Show Notes: Are You Future Proof?

    - by Bob Rhubart
    On September 14, 2012 ZDNet blogger Joe McKendrick published Why IT is a Profession in Flux, a short article in which he makes the observation that "IT professionals are under considerable pressure to deliver more value to the business, versus being good at coding and testing and deploying and integrating." I forwarded that article to my list of Usual Suspects (the nearly 40 people who have participated in the podcast over the last 3 years), along with a suggestion that I wanted to put together a panel discussion to further explore the issue. This podcast is the result. As it happened, three of the people who responded to my query were in San Francisco for Oracle OpenWorld, as was I, so I seized the rare opportunity for a face to face conversation. The participants are all Oracle ACE Directors, as well as architects: Ron Batra, Director of Cloud Computing at AT&T Basheer Khan, Founder, President and CEO at Innowave Technology Ronald van Luttikhuizen, Managing Partner at Vennster. The Conversation Listen to Part 1 Future-Proofing: As powerful forces reshape enterprise IT, your IT and software development skills may not be enough. Listen to Part 2 Survival Strategy: Re-tooling one’s skill set to reflect changes in enterprise IT, including the knowledge to steer stakeholders around the hype to what’s truly valuable. Listen to Part 3 Writing on the Wall: Do the technological trends that are shaping enterprise IT pose any threat to basic software development roles? What opportunities do these changes represent? The entire conversation is also available in video format from the OTN YouTube Channel. Your Two Cents What are you doing to future-proof your IT career? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
