In Jira is it possible to send an update email only on changing a specific field, rather than any field. If so, please advise how to do so. Thanks

When I use the Webservice of Jira, I need to use the method getIssuesFromJqlSearch to describe a certain (JQL) Query. But it returns me "No such operation 'getIssuesFromJqlSearch'". Is this method in Jira 4.01 not implemented yet?

I have researched the solution...
gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_ac "nothing"
does not fix it. I have two external monitors and when I close my lid the settings are reset and the laptop's monitor is set to the default.
