Ways to use ClamWin Antivirus

I dont use on On Access AV scanner, I just use Clamwin. My download manager invokes a scan on any files I download, and I dont share files. Apart from scheduling a system scan every week (seems an awful waste of resources) what other ways can I use Clamwin to keep your PC virus free.

Ideas such as: scan files in open folders, adaptive batch scripts that scan most frequently used folders / last used folders

things like that
