If you leave Windows hibernated for too long it takes a long time to start and recover. Explain?

And I have faced it; and I am sure you have faced it too.

I will accept a real answer on why it is so slow when hibernated for long, unless the funny answer is really funny.

How do you think they make radioactive decaying software?!
