Stored procedure sometimes returns empty result in SQL Server 2008

I upgraded recently from SQL Server 2005 to 2008 and I have some problems. First of all, if I press the search button it returns results, and the next time I press the search button I get an empty result. What's wrong, and why is it doing that?
