Ideal Compression and Expires settings for Lighttpd.

I would like to use Compression and Expires for lighttpd, but I would like a good idea of how long to compress certain things. Would anybody like to share their expires settings and how they work out for them?

I do live-edit sites, so yeah css/js couldn't be too far ahead.
