Cakephp Auth Flash Messages losing style

My Auth flash messages were working earlier -- a bright green background with text in it, such as "You have successfully logged out".

However, I have made quite a few changes to the site since then, and this green background has disappeared.

What are the possible causes of this? (I've run my CSS through a validator -- so that doesn't seem to be the issue). Any other ideas?
