Why Does Visual Studio Take so much space in both C: and installing folder? Details?

I know Visual Studio has registered many services but this fact does not be enough to explain the problem. I need details.

any help is appreciated.

ps. im talking about VS2005+. On win Vista, it takes even more spaces than XP.
