How to disable mouse wheel changing ribbon tab in Microsoft Word 2007 on Windows?

With Microsoft Word 2007 office there is now a ribbon with tabs. Often I wish to scroll the document with mouse middle button scroll wheel, however, if the mouse is hovering over the ribbon, the tabs of the ribbon are scrolled instead, this is never what I want.

Is there a way to disable mouse wheel scrolling the ribbon and instead have it scroll the document?
