One of the biggest issues I have, from a UI standpoint, when building a new website is figuring out what colors I will use and of those colors, do they actually work well together.

I often find myself wanting to change just something little in a colorscheme, but i don't want to edit the original file. I tried putting my change in '~/.vim/after/colors/blah.vim', but that doesn't work for me.

When I do
:colorscheme vilight
it loads the color scheme fine.
So I added
colorscheme vilight
to my .vimrc but its not loading it on start. Am I missing something?
