win7: software raid for several hds which retains files on each HD?

hi,

is there some kind of software/driver which enables to create one big volume out of several hard disks but retains file structure on each HD? (in case one hd crashes only data on that hd will be lost).

win7 enables me to do that but in case one hd breaks all data will be lost.
