what is wsdl and spml??

Can anybody plz tell me is there any differnce between spml and wsdl?? Are they related to each other?? I got few things that wsdl is generic, used for any service while spml is only for provisioning services. I tried googling things but m not getting wat is exactly spml and wsdl.
