Why am I unable to quickly open mapped drives on Windows XP 64-bit?

I have two mapped drives on my 64-bit WinXP workstation.

I am not getting a quick response when I open the mapped drives and other network folders. It takes nearly 3 minutes to open.

My network resources are also not functioning properly.

What can I do to fix this? Please help me out.
