Hide unauthorized folders from view in webdav

We have a Windows server running webdav.

When a Mac connects to it they see the folders they do not have access to as a blacked out folder, and then the folders they do have access to as folders. This does not happen when a client using Linux or Windows connects.

All users connect with their domain account credentials.

I may not be searching properly to get the information I am looking for, so I turn here.

Is this an issue that I should be researching on the Mac side, or ask our network team to be looking into settings on the server?
