I've just gotten a mac and the first thing I'm trying to do in setting it up for dev is to set-up synergy.
I've run into countless issues, and am making progress, but that 'mac's just work' theory is getting tired really fast.
I'd prefer running the mac as the server, as it's a desktop. why use…

I followed the troubleshooting at Start synergy on boot? completely, but I still couldn't get synergy to start on boot up.
I tried running my client starter script manually and here is what resulted:

On a 64-bit Windows Server 2003, I can see using taskmgr or process explorer that the total commit charge is around 3.5GB, yet when I sum the Private Bytes consumed by each process (by running pslist -m and adding all values under the Priv column) the total comes in at 1.6GB.
I know which process…

Greetings!
I have an ASP.NET app that scrapes data from a handful of external pages, parses the relevant bits and displays them in a table. Total data retrieved is 3-4MB and the resulting page is about 1MB. I am using synchronous WebRequest GetResponse for the retrieval, but the same problem existed…

I am trying to tune a SQL Server. Per Brent Ozar's Performance Tuning Video, he says the PerfMon's
Paging File:%Usage should be zero or ridiculously close to it. The average metric on my box is around 1.341%
The box has 18 GB of RAM, the SQL Server is off, the Commit Charge Total is 1GB and yet…
