Please recommend a USB wifi adapter for Ubuntu 9.10

I've read through the "supported hardware" pages for Ubuntu, but it's a long list, sorted by manufacturer, with lots of anecdotal evidence.

All I am looking for is a USB wifi adapter that "just works" with Ubuntu. Any recommendations? Apologies if this question isn't phrased well.
