problem in installing google gears in firefox ubuntu

  "Google Gears" could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Firefox build type (Linux_x86-gcc3). Please contact the author of this item about the problem.

This is the error i am getting while installing google gears in my firefox in ubuntu. Can anybody help me. I tried default user agent addon still its not working.
