Minimized windows in Win 7 with Dual Monitor : Do not appear in task bar

I am using two monitors( one from laptop and the other one). In dual monitor mode when I minimize the windows, sometimes they do not show in task bar and just disappear. so I have to use ALT+TAB to move between them. why it happens?
