I am using php codeigniter and i am trying to import my contacts from my gmail and yahoomail exactly like twitter... I dont know how to get started? Any suggestion?

I have been trying to resolve my issue of spiking cpu caused by php-fpm processes. I've reduced the php-fpm config settings to:
pm = ondemand
pm.max_children = 12
pm.start_servers = 2
pm.min_spare_servers = 2

I am having difficulties testing Controllers in Codeigniter:
I use Toast but when I invoke my Home Controller class I get an exception that "db" is not defined. Has anybody an idea how to test this 1-1?
