How will wayland be delivered?

Mark just announched support for wayland in Ubuntu in future.

I was just wondering the following (Hopefully Mark can answer).

Obviously this is quite a significant piece of work.

When will a version be available to test?

Will it be available as a package(s) in the repository or will it be delivered as its own distribution e.g. wayBuntu?

When do you expect it to take over as the default (e.g. 11.11)?
