A friend of mine is trying to install AutoCAD. In the install log it is written

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603

I've found a site which (hopefully) explains how to solve this: here However, my friend has not been able to uninstall the redistributables. The error message says

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

I've already suggested running this but that didn't help much. Only some of the redistributables could be uninstalled.

What can be done? Do you think running some other cleanup tool could work? Or will we have to uninstall manually (how exactly would we do that)?
