GNOME panel crash

when trying to log in using gnome-classic on ubuntu 11.10 gnome-panel crashes. I can still see the desktop and i can open applications via terminal but when i try to run gnome-panel using "gnome-panel" or "gnome-panel --replace" it crashes with this error:
