How to make transition from one-man to small team successfull

I have started a big project 1 1/2 ago. It's time to have some help to face the future challenges. Actually I'm the engineer, the architect, the dba, the sysadmin etc...

The transistion is not so simple and it's difficult to find the good person.

When we will find this person, what's the best ways to manage him/her to give enough freedom to be happy and productive but have a clean, fast, reuseable, working, ... code ?

Is there good books you advice ?

Stuck on Checking battery state at startup in Ubuntu, have splash screen no startup
