I'm in my last year of highschool and I am very interested in programming, the thing is I don't know if it could be worth it to start learning programming now, im afraid that when I get to college they might just teach all I might have learned in a few classes making a waste the time spent on learning that before college.

Right now I'm on my last year of highschool and I know absolutely nothing about programming.

There are other similar questions where people answer saying it is good to learn beforehand, but I doubt their situation might be like mine, maybe they had much more time to learn programming (as if they were not on their last year of highschool) before college so they could learn some serious skills, besides they say they already know at least the basics about a language, instead, I know nothing and I have no idea how much could I learn this year.
