Windows 7 Recovery Console File Access Denied

Recently by computer crashed and was stuck in a boot loop. So I created a Windows Recovery CD and booted from that.

When I use the command prompt in the recovery console, I cannot see any of my personal files or folders (such a my Users folder with My Documents).

Is there a way to access these files? The only reason I would need to fix the computer properly would be to get these files off of the computer and onto a hard drive.

Any other fix suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried both system repair and system restore from the Recovery Console, but neither seem to work.
