Newly compiled (patched with -ck) 3.3 kernel won't boot up

Screen is garbled. Reaaaally garbled. Like some sort of scrambling image from a movie. I can upload some pictures if needed. To be short with the description.

The computer is a ThinkPad T500 laptop. I have selected everything needed for the computer (as far as I can tell, but check the .config).

The normal generic Ubuntu kernel boots and works perfect!
