Ubuntu 12.04 installation freezes at "Detecting File Systems"

I am installing Ubuntu 12.04 onto my system, which I am dual booting an already installed version of Windows 7 with. The installation goes fine until what I suppose is near the end of the entire thing, where it is at the page where it scrolls through the features of Ubuntu. At this point, it is saying:

Detecting file systems...

It will not go past this point, and it has been at this part for an hour and a half.

What should I do to fix this? I am new to working with Linux operating systems, so please help!
