Flash drive error

when I try to install Ubuntu from flash drive, and when done from CD. I click install and then the screen goes black.

Any idea how I can fix this issue? I really would like to know how I'm suppose to fix this. if anyone knows the answer to this please reply ASAP I'm very interested in getting to learn Ubuntu :) I think it would be a fun process and windows 8 is a horrible system in general.
