I recently upgraded to 12.04 from 11.10 (ironically 11.10 had everything working, it was just laggy and jittery - now stuff isn't working on 12.04).

I plug in my bluetooth dongle and the bluetooth symbol appears in the status bar top right, I can "Turn on bluetooth" and "Turn off bluetooth" here, but it has no effect overall on the status of bluetooth. When I go to Bluetooth settings I can't make it turn on.

Also, as I have now discovered, my terminal has no command line for me to do anything with. There is absolutely nothing there... just a black, blank screen...

Help?!
