So I have a Raspberry PI, with an 1TB external USB HD plugged into it.
I have Debian Wheezy installed to which I added the NetaTalk package.
Following this guide which is on Ubuntu, but was easy enough to understand -

I was even able to change the icon to look like an X-Serve :-)
Next step to add a second HD that will backup my Windows 8 laptop as well.
