We’ve seen magnetic cards and RFID cards used as keys before, but QR codes? Check out the video to see how a group of Cornell University students developed a visual key card.

Rather than use magnetic stripes or RFID proximity antennas, their build relies on decoding a passkey stored in a QR code–check out the above video to see it in action and hit up the link below for more information.
