I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to a VPS.

I successfully installed a WordPress NGINX setup but I am lost when it comes to downloading plugins from the WordPress dashboard.

What credentials do I use? I am still using root on the VPS, although I have disabled root login and am using value key pairs to login.

do I have to change to another user from root or can I use root as the ftp credentials from the dashboard to download plugins?
